maybe a bit of background information here to see where i am going with this thread.i only had a basic education , leaving school as a 14 year old.
though being grouded in the three r`s reading, righting, and rithmatic.my first job lasted over 12years , had a few interesting jobs in the intervening years , and my last job lasted 28 years.
retiring at the age of 68 years.i consider myself fortunate to have had a good work ethic.now getting back to my topic , i was converted as a 20 year old , and as i said with only a basic education .

In a word, 'STUPID'..and i was 23 when i got dunked back in the 70s. Maybe i was trying to mend my ways, was fed up with my 'worldly' life..
I got lucky on the crap table in Vegas and rolled the dice for almost an hour,got drunk, bought a house, bunch of crap and I was still not satisfied..
Nothing smart about it, just fooled, conned, by a lie...

i am doing one of my dreams for a while: growing a beard.
it may not seem like much, but it's quite the experience for me.
it's probably a rite of passage from jw to exjw lol.. besides the itchyness, i hate it that it curls so much (i have hairs that naturally start to curl after a certain length).. anyone here have tips on taking care of a beard?
Just let it grow, the itching will eventually go away. Trim it where you see fit. Always looking clean and smelling good.
When you happen to cross paths with the JWs you know, even though most might not even look at you..
Best just smile and say..besos y pethos......some of my latin panache..

i found the meetings to be especially boring from the late 1980s on.
before that, we actually tried to make people want to listen.
the meetings were pretty interesting.

The first meeting I went to in 1973, I took a red letter KJ bible and the speaker explained a red letter verse from another angle I never heard of before.
It impressed me at the time.
The last time I went to a meeting I learned that I will never go to another meeting EVER..again

so, the wife and i are reminiscing today about how when you would leave an assembly- you would struggle to remember just one interesting point.
usually- you had to look at your notes or the program to just remember 1 thing that struck you.
all day of talking and less than :30 seconds of information retained!!!.
There were a lot laughs in the foreign language field. Used to love teaching the english speaking bros (mostly elders) phrases..
e.g. I like to eat crap.. or..I like naked men..things like that....Trying to hold a straight face was impossible. It got me in a bit of trouble.
I got removed several times...some of them dudes wouldn't let it go....The over serious ones would always be squinting there eyes
everytime they saw me at assembly or something..Some were ok with it..they enjoyed the show..
