Wow. That is awesome, i am very pleased for you. I hope this becomes the standard reaction jw relatives have, rather than the exception.

I finally told my parents
by nolongerconfused inso as some of you already may know, i have stopped going to meetings for good and have nothing to do with wbts anymore...did not write a letter of disassociation because i dont believe an organization should spiritually execute me for rejecting men's tradition and false doctrine...some of you may recall i spoke to my wife and are in good terms, even though she's still an active jw.
my parents are both active jw's...when i visited them yesterday, they clearly did not expect me to tell them i had left the "org"...to my huge surprise, after i explained to them i had found ttatt (truth about the truth) and gave compelling evidence of my reasoning, and using the scriptures, they totally sided with me...i was dumbfounded...one of my parents even brought up ray franz and his book coc....i was like wtf??.
they told me all of these years they never had the guts to say anything about the hypocrisy in this org and they were glad that i as their son was able to step up and believe what is right and what is on the bible...they re-assured their love to me and they were happy i had found happiness in jesus christ and the need to have a personal relationship with him and not through a man made organization.... i totally did not expect this response from my parents...but it just leaves me to think that there are thousands of active jw's out there feeling the same way and don't have the courage to step up to the org...still don't know what they are going to do, but i got the feeling they will do the same eventually and move on from the wbts.... have a great week everyone.

What is it about the game Soccer that brings out the most destructive behaviour of a minority of fans, which seems to be a global problem
by smiddy inin europe ,south america ,and elsewhere ,riotous behaviour seems to go hand in hand with soccer fans , destruction of property and even death has occured why is that ?
we have just recently had an episode at etihad stadium in melbourne this past weekend where thousands of dollars damage was caused and flares ignited which could have caused injury to spectators, who , would have included families with children who just wanted to enjoy the game .i beleive their were something like 40000 spectators present ,which in all fairness mostly were well behaved, except for this lawless minority.. melbourne is not used to this behaviour at sporting events ,many of our events host thousands more spectators without anywhere near the trouble that was had at the weekend .. australian rules football , afl in victoria ,certainly produces fanatical supporters , me included , at some games 60 , 80, 100,000 in attendance ,yet never apart from a fight breaking out here or their , have we ever experienced something like that .. so , what is wrong with soccer league fans .

Sorry to hijack the thread smiddy. . . . but I can't help but talk about sport. I know someone who says, 'never trust a man that does not like sport'. . . . wise words.
The point I was trying to make cofty, is that everyone has different tastes, and it is not really possible to define which game is the most skillful, dynamic, exciting, unpredictable and so on. There is off the ball movement in every team sport. There is offside in soccer so it is not exactly 100% open, whereas in aussie rules there are a million people on the field and no offside. ( I don't personally like it all that much)
I know in oz, many of the Aussie rules and rugby league coaches love the NFL for its tactical aspect, and the size and strength of the players. Cricket players appreciate the ability of the baseball players and vice versa.
99% of the world best soccers players wouldnt last one tackle, one play, one pitch, one ball in another sport, but that does not mean anything. It is just that soccers players can't play other( less skillful?) sports perhaps.
And also, the NRL in oz is by far the best rugby competition in the world. Chubby youngsters who lack skills will have to settle for rugby union. . . . or the Australian soccer league

The skills are far greater than in most other team sports.
Players taking dives constantly (cheating)
Diving is an issue with a minority of players. It may happen once or twice in a game - not constantly. It is by far the most skillful and dynamic of team sports.
Are the skills greater than in most other team sports? Or is it by far the most skillful and dynamic of team sports?
I am not really going to debate which sports skill set you appreciate the most, obviously you find football(soccer) the most entertaining. But surely you could understand that not everyone is going to agree with that. Even the worlds best players would marvel at the abilities of other sports players (basketball, rugby, AFL, baseball).
There are many players in the NRL that can squat over 160kgs, bench more than 130kgs, run the 100metres in around 11 secs, and are involved in over 50 collisions a game that would see the average soccer player suffer horrific injuries. It is all subjective, I don't think any sport can make the claim to being the most skillful and dynamic. Sport isn't just skill, circus performers are skillful but that ain't sport.
I get annoyed at the AFL vs NRL arguments we have in oz, not everyone is going to have the same pov.
Its like asking who is the greatest drummer of all time. There is no definitive answer.

The game is a joke IMO. Players taking dives constantly (cheating). It is embarassimg to watch.
I don't know why some fans are incited to violence. . . . . maybe it's because we are deep into the last of the last days of Satans system.

Mind Reading and Reinstatement - Part 1
by RayPublisher ini've published a new article on my blog about the agony that people go through in seeking reinstatement.
part one includes a personal experience of one that crawled throught this field of glass in order to be able to regain a relationship with a close friend that is asleep in the jw movement.. part two will have a transcript (and accompanying audio on my youtube channel) from a sister that recorded her entire reinstatement hearing, including what the elders said about her after she was dismissed from the room while they deliberated.. here's a peek at the article on jwstruggle:.
.. .. .. there are likely a number of you on jwnet that have "been there and back again" and gone through it.. what was the hardest thing about getting reinstated?.

I feel for JWs who have left or been df'd, but still believe that it is the 'truth'. There would be many that have their lives consumed from negative thoughts because they feel they are living a life that is disapproved by god. Df'd ones trying their best to make the right impression on a few elders so they can restore their relationship with god. Pretty sad really.
The truth certainly does set you free.

The website is just mutton dressed as lamb.
They seek to make the religon appealing to others, and in order to do that, they dishonestly represent what they actually teach to its members.
Who would have thought it would be such an effort to make the 'truth' appealing.

Yes this point was made clear at our meeting. Lots of emphasis on obedience. Jehovah molds us through his org, the slave.
We were converting the miles into kilometers in order to fully grasp the amazing attitude Jeremiah displayed in obeying the Governing Body. . . . I mean Jehovah.
I thought it was interesting that the book said we know that he did actually make the journey, without explaining how we can be sure, or without showing the full criticism that they said some have made. Now I see it is a fair point that these 'evil' critics make.
I don't know if it because I am just more aware now that I have awakend, but the gushing over the slave class seems to happen more and more. Every second comment, the opening and closing prayer. After a public talk the chairman will often (a couple of brothers ALWAYS) thank the faithfull slave for the outline.
It seems more and more cultish the further you mentally escape.
