Independent thinking is discouraged, it’s promoted as dangerous. The idea of God directing everything that happens inside the org runs strong in the mind of a JW, just like the idea of everlasting life on paradise earth. Having freedom of expression and idea puts every relationship you have at risk, Angus Stewart highlighted at the Royal Commission in Australia, the JWs are a captive organisation and the cost of leaving, or even staying for that matter can be high.

Like Simon said, the banks are regulated by governments or at least they should be, and it is ultimately the government who is responsible. The interest rates, lending measures, inflation pressures, employment figures and so on, this is all considered by the reserve bank, keeping the economy well lubricated is their job. Printing money or creating it from thin air doesn’t make for a viable economy.

When you take loan from a bank the interest rate is higher vs the intersest rate the bank pays for cash in the bank.
Fairly basic, the most obvious way a bank is supposed to make money.

Alternative explanations could include the following: Among the ranks of JWs, many dkready have ore-existing mental illnesses including depressive outlooks or that the JWs minority status makes followers vulnerable to stress caused by being outsiders from wider society.
Most men who commit suicide don’t have any known mental illness.
One factor that would come into play is occupation, for men working in construction the rate of suicide is much higher. I expect the JWs would over represent in these jobs compared to the general population, certainly in Australia they do. So we should probably expect a slightly higher rate, at least in Australia.
But like Steve said, virtually impossible to know with so many factors.

i know its only a minority from that group, but there are enough out there for them to reference from.
