How sad Jemba that they are losing out on so much. It reinforces the fact it is a cult, they obviuosly think they are doing the right thing, but clearly are not.

Venting some rage and pain.
by jemba inmy father the coboe and much loved member of the cult has ignored me and my children 17yrs and 8yrs old for much of my life and all of my kids lives.
i hate that religion for taking my father away and i hate him for being sucked in and putting all his love, time and kindness into the org and the stupid dubs and leaving himself too tired and uninterested in us.
my kids dont have grandparents, my mum is ok, she rings me once a month but kinda ignores my kids, just gives em $50 each a yr as a substitute for love and attention.. .

she going to look like the victim
Looks like she is a victim, hints and seed of doubt are better than a ton of bricks.

Over 7 million serving in love in over 109,000 congregations? Really? What kind of love?
And how many pedophiles are there preying on the innocent whilst being protected by the GBs 'loving' rules in your united organisation?

I thought this thread was about 'V' the series - loved that series, ended too soon
A species of people hiding something dark inside but with a nice peaceful front promising a better future, and a fifth column trying to undermine them, very entertaining, but very farfetched don't you think

A milestone for my Grandson, David
by coffee_black indavid turned 18 yesterday.
(he is the one who walked from orlando, fl to washington, dc a little over 3 years ago on behalf of homeless children) i wrote about that on the forum back then.
what i didn't write about is that david has grown up without a father....not because he doesn't exist, but because his father has chosen to live his life of drugs and violence.

Do you regret confessing your sins to the elders?
by asilentone inyes, i do!
i did it 20 years ago, but the elders still remember what i did, sometimes i wish they never knew about it.

Unfortunately I was the approachable elder and heard loads of confessions. These ones genuinely believed they had sinned against god and it bothered them. After counsel given either privately or at JC meetings I'd always say not to think about it anymore and not beat themselves up. I never agreed with DFing but did once where the person had basically lied to the whole cong and they were about to find out. He was reinstated soon after!
I've also never told a soul about these confessions, if someone tells me in confidence that's the way it stays.
I hated JC meetings, so glad I'm away from all that nonsense.

Do You Regret Reporting Your Elder, Elder's Wife Of Misconduct? It never works!
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inone thread is heading down "do you regret confessing?".
do you regret telling the brothers something because of the "matthew 18" passage about "going to the elders if your brother/sister has sinned against the hall?".
i told the circuit overseer about a coverup with old "holy-joey", the harsh judge of sexual sins of young witnesses.

How such double standard elders ever believe they will be rewarded is beyond me, they can't believe what they preach so what's the point? Must be in for the power trip.

It is OFFICIAL they want MORE MONEY : NEW ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
by raymond frantz ini just came back from the meeting .although the local announcements have been abolished recently as an item for the second part , an elder came on the platform to announce that the society needs more money and there is a letter on the noticeboard for all the congragation to read to this effect.
although the announcement was read half heartedly (this elder's daughter is an apostate ,it looks like he knows what's going on) the implictions are dramatic .
the society in brief, requests any brother or sister with funds sitting on personal accounts to loan them to the society ,he didn't go into any specifics but i will take a picture of the letter next time and make it available here .. i'm not amazed that they're asking for money ,i thought it will happen sooner or later .what i'm amazed is that 99% of the congragation are oblivious to the financial crisis that the society finds itself these days and the reasons why .i can see the future now .the watchtower will be the fist part of the babylon the great to go down in a blaze of scandals and financial troubles !.

This thread is not exactly massive news, they are always asking for money one way or another. With the mags now being cut down, some R & F will have reduced donations, so expect it.
Awatcher, welcome. I'm glad you have such unwavering faith, believing what you cannot see, however hold it against the evidence, real evidence, and find out for yourself. Don't believe all you are told.

Welcome HC, you are clearly very 'switched on' and intelligent, well done for seeing through the BS so early on and not 'conforming', and I am really happy you have your mum as a good friend. Hope the 'healing' as you describe it continues for you, you are still young and have a lot of life ahead of you.
