A few months after I had faded I bumped into an elder, he said I was missed as all my points I raised in the elders meetings were always backed up by scriptures. I found it an odd comment to make, until I read the above.

WT Elders school: Look how cute that kindly old elder is! Too bad the Talmud says we have to stone our victim anyway
by sir82 inmore haphazard thougths on the recently concluded elder school..... a big chunk of time was spent on a video which traced a judicial case, all the way from the confession to the elders through the decision to disfellowship the guy.. here is a very brief synopsis of the video:.
tearful late-teen or early-20's publisher confesses to 2 elders that he committed fornication with a "worldly girl" who is now preganant and wants to marry him.
the elders give him some "homework" to do prior to his judcial committee - read psalm 51 and an old wt article.

Which Governing Body Members Do You Believe Read "Crisis Of Conscience"?
by JimmyPage inmy guess would be the ones featured prominently in the book.
franz speculated on different directions the wt doctrine might eventually take and he was proved right.
perhaps his ideas were considered by some to be good solutions to the corners they painted themselves into and stolen on that basis.

They would have known the content anyway, I think they all probably did out of curiosity, or at least had someone paraphrase it so they would be able to defend their actions

by Phizzy inhttp://news.gather.com/viewarticle.action?articleid=281474981761860 .
us xjw's will have to behave ourselves, i think the worst punishment they could inflict on me would be to be forced to attend a kingdom hall, i would go to jail instead !.

I love the last sentence (no pun intended) in the article: Forcing him to attend a Christian church isn't going to solve anything.

Were you afraid of "apostates"?
by everchangingworld ini remember hearing rumblings of a few that had gone "apostate" and feeling absolute dread of the dark world they had stepped into.
i would re-double my studying efforts.
to me, "apostates" had gone over into the "dark side".

Out with a bang or Fade
by Honeybucket inwhat did you decide to do?.
leave with a bang, trying to educate those around you before leaving?
perhaps writing letters to others forgiving/ asking for forgiveness.. or.

I waited for the announcement that I was no longer an elder, and never went back, stopped everything. It was still a fade as i never DA'd myself so the out with a bang doesn't apply. Having said that my wife still gets "we miss him" a lot. If they were pestering me it would be a different matter.

Try and see it as part of your journey. The lady was helping you, but her cult mindset was there also. You have a husband who cares about you also, judging by the fact he helped with the counselling. I'm presuming he didn't report you to the elders, so there's a chance he could be open minded, even slightly.
Don't do anything rash though, take small steps, watch what happens after each step and plan the next.

Everyone has a need to feel they 'belong' or 'fit in' somewhere, just start being true to yourself. Instead of thinking what would 'so and so ' do, ask what you want to do.
Be true to yourself
