The End of Circuit Overseers

i am sure that the term "circuit overseer" will be gone soon.

they seem to be changing vocabulary and the presiding overseer is now the "coordinator of the body of elders" and all "district overseers" will be gone in a few months.

they used to be called "circuit servants" but they will never re-hash an old term so they will make a new term.

i've just realised i've reached 1000 posts on the board.. this is a personal milestone and so i think i should take a moment to reflect on the last 18 plus months.. in that time i have completely lost my faith in bible, in jw doctrine and in any kind of hope for a new world as described by the gb and believed by me for 40+ years.

i have stepped down as a ministerial servant after 20 years.

my wife knows the gb are false in many ways but she still holds to the "theyre more right than others!

It depends on her personality. Appeal to it. If she is open to read crisis of conscience why not jwfacts.com? If you do meeting prep together I'm sure every week you'll find something disturbing. I used to find meetings excruciating as every week something would be said that jarred. Ask her how she feels about the subject being discussed, can she explain it?

i remember reading a thread when my exit was starting, about inspirational songs.

someone posted a link to the "shins" for a fool.

this was a surprising help to me.

Coldplay - Paradise. If you listen its a story of a girl who dreams of paradise and realised she wouldn't see it unless she makes it happen. Most of my life I was told to do things the JW way with the hope of paradise in the future, but now I realise we are responsible for making our own paradise. Follow your dreams.

court rejects missionary lawsuit against netanya schools for voiding leasethe tel aviv magistrates court has rejected a claim by a missionary group, saying that the school they had been renting space in unlawfully voided their contract , and asking the court to instruct the school to pay nis 108,000 in compensation and mental anguish, as well as legal expenses.. it began when a missionary group, via a non-profit organization called "mitzpe l'yisrael", rented space at the raziel school in netanya to conduct daily afternoon activities.

shortly after signing the rental agreement , the school authorities discovered that the group was, in reality, the notorious missionary sect of "jehovah's witnesses".

Over 7yrs as a JW and I just found out I'm not supposed to buy Girl Scout Cookies?

i'm still in the matrix(the truth), but 'morpheus' and his team are valiantly working on a way to get me out.

in the meantime, everyday i am discovering so much about being a jw i never knew, like don't buy girl scout cookies, that i keep asking myself "what have i got myself into".. maat.

really lame for a first post, but i figure i should start some where.

My JW sister left JW husband

after years of looking down on me for not being "in the truth", being told (more or less) that my daughter died because i did not have the "truth" and therefore god's approval.

my sister has, after forty years of marriage and fifty years of being in the truth....left her husband and her dis-fellowshipped son and gone to live with our other sister (who by the way is disassociated).

i am amazed at this turn of events, as i have always been led to believe that they were a fine example of how complete and spiritually protected they were as a family for being in the jw religion.

I hope your nephew recovers quickly and is helped to realise he can live a better life without drugs and JWs.

Not willing to cooperate

just thought i would let you know there appears to still be no change when it comes to assisting the police here in the uk.

i am in the process of pressing charges against my abuser who was and is again a jw.

during my interviews with the police i did not mention jws as it was not relevant to the case, however during one if his interviews he stated that he had been 'punished' by the jws by being disfellowshipped, and now he was a jw again he had 'paid his dues'!.

Thank you all for your supportive comments. The case is moving ahead now after a long wait. It was a relief to give the police my statement, though it was quite a long time ago. The authorities seem confident he will get a good sentence.

My Window Cleaner

my window cleaner is a jw and as i am always working when he comes to my house i haven't seen him or spoken to him in years.

the other day i was in my local town and went into a cafe for some lunch.

who is sitting there but my window cleaner and his wife.

I'm DA'd, and yes he recognised me, we've known each other since the late 1980's.

I'm not going to pay and wait for some sort of contact. And he's sacked!

Fernando - going the Candace Conti route does not really apply to me, the abuser was never an appointed person and the 1 elder that warned my mother from getting involved with him is long dead. I could possibly put together a case against the JWs for lack of protection but do not think it would be as solid as others. I seek justice against my abuser and am confident I wil get it, I don't ever see getting justice for all the wrongs WTBTS have done as much as I would like it.
