  A Memorial First

  i've been out for a good solid 7 years.. last night was the 2nd memorial in a row i did not attend.. this year's memorial was the 1st time i did not receive an invitation or a visit or a phone call from anyone asking me to attend.. in fact, i didn't even realize it was last night until i got on this website this morning.. it feels great!.

  I got a phone call invite the night before, I gave a very patronising 'aw thank you' and ended the call.

  Cedars, your time and effort is greatly appreciated, I cannot fathom how anyone can just accept all this and believe the GB are who they say they are, the R+F are truly blinded. As you say, it leaves more questions that cannot appear to be answered.

  Welcome, I know how you feel. If you can stand the hypocrisy then keep up the pretense, however I couldn't do it and ended up having a nervous breakdown. I was an elder for 10 years, and saw the nonsense behind it all. I would recommend you study the bible objectively, without the WT soin as you put it, you will find it revealing and refreshing. I hope you find inner peace soon.

  Memorial Hell

  today has been one of the most aganizing days since i woke up.

  my family has been pressuring me to show up at the memorial for the past week.

  it became very intense today with my dad texting me constantly to get me to confirm and when i didn't answer he would call my wife and then she would constantly nag me to answer my dad and so on and so forth.

  You have my sympathy also, I did not go either and my wife didn't speak to me after she got back from observing the wine and crackers. It's a cult!

  Welcome Elbear, sorry to hear of your mental turmoil, however I really think that now you are starting to take control of your life and making a decision about what is right and wrong for you, you will find that it gets easier. Be true to yourself, and love life.

  leaving the org was not a doctrinal choice for me as it was for many on this board.

  i left mentally because of the boredom and then i physically left by being dfd.

  i have been reading here for about a month or so and now i know i made the right decision.

  I am miserable...am I crazy?

  as a born in jw my outlet was always music.

  my parents let me do piano lessons (from another sister) and when i was 14 i lobbied hard enough for a guitar.

  i formed a decent punk/emo type in high school behind my parents back.

  See the job as a vehicle to achieve what you want to do personally. Get yourself that nice guitar, you are still young and have lot of life ahead of you. If you can get the business to a level where it gives you an income with little effort it'll give you more time to enjoy life. Don't go back to the drugs though!
