Are The Governing Body Being Set Up To Take A Fall?
by DT inthe governing body's decision to declare themselves the faithful and discreet slave appears pretty arrogant and presumptuous.
since most of us regard the governing body as arrogant and presumptuous, it's easy to conclude that is the reason that they did this.. what if something else is going on?.
remember when steven unthank was able to get the faithful and discreet slave charged in australia for failing to comply with the working with children act?

My thoughts and observations re: the Memorial
by 144001 inwhile sitting through my annual visit to a kingdom hall tonight, i had the following thoughts/observations:.
1. the speaker appealed to the kids: "how many here are 15 years of age or younger?
" he then went on to tell us how exciting it would be to "lie down" with lions that eat straw instead of flesh, and further discussed jw kids napping with leopards, bears, and cattle.

Please direct me to the arabic implementation of JW.ORG
by bats in the belfry in.
i was unable to locate the arabic language on their website, thinking about the potential to reach millions.. http://www.jw.org/en >>> site language box - i can't find it.. .
shouldn't it be one of the main concerns to flood these countries with their propaganda via internet since there are so few missionaries in them?.

I would have to imagine that it's down at the bottom of the list (remember, all language choices are written in their own language), but I can't identify any Arabic scripts, looking at what's there. Since I don't read Arabic, maybe this isn't surprising.

How exactly did Jesus fulfill the law NOT the prophecies.
by mP intheres a clear difference between prophecies (predictions of future events) and laws(stuff you should and shouldnt do).. now since xians always says jesus fullfilled the law, how does one fullfill a bunch of requirements like dont murder, dont worship idols, shave your beard like this etc.. there are 613 laws in the torah, jewish rabbis have done all the hard work and we have a nice list on wiki.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/613_mitzvot.
im confused which of those some how select a unique individual to be the unique messiah ?
then again there were many messiahs, every king and priest of israel and judea was a messiah.

This whole thread suffered from a failure of communication. mP was trying to say that the Bible is not God's Word, but just a collection of Jewish writings followed by claims from the early Christians that reinterpreted those writings to point to the Messiah. So when people think they're answering mP's question, they're actually missing the point and wasting their time because of the oblique way in which mP led the conversation.

For sure, the internment of the Japanese is one of our ugliest moments as a nation. Maybe #2 after slavery. I'd like to think that won't be repeated in our more politically-correct modern age, but who knows. I saw a lot of fear-based thinking and tribalism in the wake of 9/11, especially in March 2003, so I guess I shouldn't give anyone too much credit.

This is the second Memorialâ„¢ that I have been to since waking up. I paid extra attention to how they explained the two hopes. I tried to hear it like a person visiting for the first time would hear it. As you can see above, they used Revelation to show a number in heaven (they didn't read the scripture about the great crowd also being in heaven). Then to show the earthly hope, instead of reading a scripture that clearly states that everyone else lives on earth (because let's be honest there ain't one) they read the usual scriptures in Isaiah of a nice sounding earth and said the fact that you desire these things is proof that you have an earthly hope.
Everything that you just said, except substitute "first Memorial" for "second Memorial". I was trying to imagine how logical the explanation of two hopes would sound to a new one, and, well, it didn't. Considering how they glossed over the subject, I think the important point for them was just to explain to all of us why we shouldn't do anything with the emblems that were about to be passed to us except pass them right on. "You're not in this elite group, so no wine and crackers for you." It's like the Soup Nazi, but with holy emblems of Christianity.
