Why do they assume they were anointed?
by Sheep2slaughter ini am well aware that this thread could diverge into a discussion of the legitimacy of the watchtowers view of heavenly class and earthly class and what not.
... but that's not the thrust of my question.
i just replied to a thread about going to memorial and started thinking how after jesus started out no one talked about actually doing it after the initial time.

Funny thing is... who says there are more then one "class"? Who says there is a "class" at all? You either are a follower of Christ or not... I think there is no thing in between. No two rewards etc. My father says he is from the anointed class... he participates etc etc but never can explain why... he says: I just know it :P lolllllllzzzzzzz

Anyone here been Dfd for 'apostacy'?
by Julia Orwell injust wanna know.
i'm doing the fade but i reckon my big mouth could get me dfd.
i know plenty who've been dfd for fornication/adultery, but never met one dfd for speaking the truth.

According to some internal rules they do not need to have you there at all with a juidical meeting... if you refuse to come they will have one anyway... so avoiding it does not change the outcome... going doesn't either.... best to avoid one by closing your mouth.

I think being disfellowshipped for apostacy is actually not that bad... thing is: apostacy in their world is not apostacy in the eyes of Christ.
They did not disfellowship me (yet) but I had some hard discussions at my place with the bro's ... thing is they are a bit softer in the Netherlands then they are in other countries I guess... they know I am in fade mode but I think they give me a break because I also have a wife and kids (because she is still attending meetings etc).
My wife knows I would rather be DF-ed (rather yesterday than today!) but it would make life harder for her and me as well (I am not shunned to badly) and I am backing off more for her sake then mine... but hey... who knows what the future will bring

My visit yesterday to the congregation
by Gorbatchov inbecause my brother-in-law did the sunday talk in the congregation, we were invited to come to the congregation.. it was 3 months ago we showed our faces there.. when we entered the hall some witnesses said hello.
most of them did a far away look away.. i walked to the counter for taking the 2013 calender, the daily text book and much magazines the local clown elder (he was dressed in purple), talked to me with a loud voice "welcome!
nice to see you again.

I assume that in the 3 months you were away and they do not call to "encourage" you... but as soon as someone puts their feet in the hall they get love-bombed.

Pro-JW website SLAMS apostates
by yadda yadda 2 inat the site, click on the pictures to read lengthy diatribes against apostates lol.. apostasy "seeing oneself as a victim denied" .
as a result of seeing oneself as a victim denied, there can occur a powerful drive toward disaffection and apostasy.
as is almost inevitably the case, there is a great need on the part of a leave-taker to validate their oppositional stance, and the victim-victimizer scenario greatly assists a person in justifying their course of action.

QR codes: a way to stop APOSTATES !!!
by raymond frantz ininteresting meeting today.the do had the last talk and he mentioned a couple of things i have not heard before :.
1) the new lighter magazines are designed in a way to attract people to our website .
2)the ministry will change to incoprorate preacing in town centres and and with stands as in manhattan and certain brothers will be allocated to do this .so it is done now in a big scale ,organised.. 3)the qr codes at the back of the magazines are there for smart phone users to guide them directly to jw.org ,unlike bad old internet via laptops and pc's that you have to look for the website on google and sometimes end up in enemy websites that look like our website but are spreading lies about jw's (he said exactly that!

Fallacy of Baptism "in Holy Spirit"!
by The Searcher inthe following comment taken from the march 1st 2013 watchtower, is nothing new.
to witnesses the world over it's a basic teaching which even the kids understand; "humans with heavenly prospects have been baptized in water and with holy spirit and are thus spirit-begotten disciples of jesus.
" (john 3:3, 5) (both at the same time??????).

Acts 10:44-48 tells us that Cornelius was a person who got baptized in Spirit first... and after that he got baptised in water...
44 While Peter was still saying these things, ithe Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. 45 And the believers from among jthe circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because kthe gift of the Holy Spirit lwas poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they were hearing them mspeaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, 47 n“Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit ojust as we have?” 48 And he pcommanded them qto be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.

Jehovah's Witnesses View of Jesus Compared to the Early Church
by cofty inthe following is an extract from something i wrote 16 years ago soon after leaving the watchtower.
i am posting it because it may help honest jws consider how far their beliefs are at odds with new testament christians.
if they have "the truth" then their attitude to jesus ought to reflect that of the apostles.

Written 16 years ago by you (but almost two thousand years ago by others already) and still it hasn't changed... if only we can say that from the watchtower materials which seem to change in the same year! Excellent post and proof enough for me!
