Gasoline Price in your area
by JH inyesterday alone the price of gasoline went up 9 cents a liter here in eastern canada passing from 68 to 77 cents a liter.
a one day jump of 9 cents a liter is equal to about 40 cents a gallon.
so now we pay 77 cents a liter or 3.50$ a canadian gallon.

Hormone Hostage
by Simon inevery "hormone hostage" knows that there are days in the month when all a man has to do is open his mouth and he takes his life in his hands.
this is a handy guide that should be as common as a driver's license in the wallet of every husband, boyfriend, or male child.. dangerous: what's for dinner?.
safer: can i help you with dinner?.

Runaway Kids
by animal insince i am home a few days, i figured i would try to post a new question and see what happens.... were you a runaway from home, due to the jw's, or were you the parent of a runaway?
as many know, i was.... i split in 72 when i was 15, waiting for the world to end.
i ended up in prison, lived on the streets, and tried/sold drugs to survive till i was 18 or so.

Back in the early 60's, when I was 16, I ran away and married a "worldly guy". He was 16 also. His family knew what we were doing. We planned it for a Tuesday as my mom spent every Tuesday in field service [door knocking]. That way if the school called she would not be home to find out that I skipped school. A few days later I returned to get my clothes. Mom hid from me in the kitchen. She said it was like a death in the family.

I have two daughters who had the traditional wedding with the long white gowns and trains attached. I didn't have that kind of wedding. My youngest got married first. My oldest married the following year. After my youngests wedding my oldest told me that she and her fiance would just go to a justice of peace and get married. She said this because she saw what went into putting a big wedding in place. She told me that she couldn't see me going through that again. I told her I wanted to do it one more time, just one more time for her. She granted my wish and has never regretted it. Her father [my first husband] fussed the whole time we were planning her wedding. He couldn't understand why a girl would go through all of that. It was senseless and a waste of money. When she and her husband left the reception for their honeymoon her father cried like a baby. He said he then understood and he didn't begrudge a cent that was spent.
Both of their wedding portraits hand on my bedroom wall and I still get tears in my eyes when I look at them. It is something that they will be able to treasure and not be like their mom who never had what they had because she was a JW.
I live in the south [NC] so I'm sure things are handled different in other parts of the world, but the newspapers around here have a bridal section. The brides picture and a detailed write up of her wedding will be included. I have never, never seen a JW wedding in the newspaper. Wonder why?

I had a partial hysterectomy when I was 30 years old. Best thing I ever did. I did not realize how bad I had been feeling till afterwards.
I've got one piece of advice for you..........learn [practice] how to roll out of bed. If the doctor does the smiley cut you will need to know this manuever [I promise you].
Good luck and I'm sure everyone here will have you in their prayers.
