BORN-INS! What Were The Most Annoying Quotes Your Parents Would Say?
by OneStepOut93 inregarding worldly people, shows or toys?
etc...what quotes annoyed you the most?.
for me it was "well, you have to remember, they're worldly"... "don't trust anyone who isn't in the truth" "they may be nice but they are not friends of jehovah"... just a few to name.

My questions for YOU
by Terry ini'm curious about human intelligence and beliefs as a natural phenomenon.. i've long suspected that even the most "normal" and well-educated person harbors "fringe" beliefs.. the purpose of this thread is not to mock beliefs of any kind.
rather it is for all of us to toss in to a pile our own unprovables so .
we can, as a group, evaluate how natural and non-neurotic such thinking might well be.. .

I think overall I don't believe in any religion, but I don't believe that some of the Christian morals I was instilled with are beneficial in making me a better person. But, a doomsday...massive armageddon at the end of the world? Yeah I don't believe in that.
I want to believe in UFOs though...but I have yet to see any.
And I think all that psychic stuff is just fakes.

what is the earliest age you heard someone get Baptised?
by enigma1863 ini was curious what is the youngest age any jw has been baptised.
i thought it was hypocritical for jws to say wait for marriage because its such a big deal but "why wait to get baptised".
i think my step sister was 11 years old.

I got baptized at 12, completely sure I was doing the right then...but it's funny because I think back to it, even my father had told me to wait. He wanted to make sure I wasn't doing it just because other youths in the congregation were, and he wanted to make sure I was ready.
I should have listened to him.

New Light 144,000 Congregations
by Bob_NC inhas anyone heard quiet rumblings of new light on the meaning of the 144,000?
to look for 144,000 congregations of jehovah's people as there are now almost 112,000 congregations?
has anyone heard this?.

This can't be true...
I just can't imagine them changing their stance on the 144,000. That's one of their core doctrines...that most of us are going to be living on a earthly paradise. I can't seem them flipping it without many people causing an uproar.

Was jehovah/yahweh/god the first to commit an abortion?!
by OneDayillBeFree injust caught this in today's watchtower!
while the wtb&ts is going on about all of david's sins and how god was being a "god of love" and showing forgiveness to his servants, (keyword: his= only jehovah's witnesses) i decided to go ahead and start reading the whole story about what really happened.
so then i stumbled upon 2 samuel 12:15&18 .

This whole watchtower study today just confused me. One minute there are saying Jehovah will forgive us no matter what sin, and then they are like, it doesn't come automatically. But basically he reads our hearts and that is how he judges accordingly whether to forgive us or not. I don't know...it just doesn't make sense.
And yeah, punishing a baby that wasn't even born yet for something his parents did...a pretty douche mood.

Is it wrong to stay in?
by confusedteenager ini feel like, i don't believe in the majority of what the gb teaches, but all of my friends and family are invested in this organization and i feel it would be easier on me to just play the part and continue going through the motions then try to leave right now.
is this taking the coward way out?.
i just feel like i wouldn't have much to look forward if i stepped away..

Very true indeed.
By the way guys, I'm a girl. Lol. Just thought I'd point that out.

Thank you everyone for the great advice. I'm going to take it all into consideration. For the time being though, I really think the best option is for me to "fake it". I am baptized, regular pioneer, and just recently graduated from High School. I'm not in college, so looking for work has been very difficult, but I am on the prowl. I do think that I love my family too much to leave, along with the fact that I still am not entirely sure that I disagree with everything in the organization. I agree with what some said--I want to be 100% sure about how I feel before I make any rash decisions.

New Release for 2013 District Assemblies
by RubaDub inan insider at bethel has confirmed that there will be a new book released this summer at the district assemblies.
the society is using some new technology called "current light.
" it allows them to print the book with certain parts in permanant ink (as has been historically used) while other parts of the book have erasable ink.. as i understand it, sentences that begin with words such as "evidently, apparently, obviously, it appears that, likely, clearly, doubtless" and numerous other phrases will be in a slightly different font so that the "current light" sentences can be easily changed when needed.. for example:.

Flip-flopping all over the place
by confusedteenager inone minute i'm believing completely in god and in jesus christ, and in the next instance i'm questioning all religious systems in general.
i think i'm just lacking faith, but then in the back of my head i'm wondering if i've just been so indoctrinated and deluded...that i can't imagine living without considering that there is a god to be worshiped, or that i need to worship god in order to be happy.
i don't know how full-blown atheists or full blown christians do it either way.

I don't know how full-blown atheists or full blown Christians do it either way. There is just so many doubts for either side, how can you really truly pick a definite position? That's why I know in my heart I'm agnostic, but I came to this conclusion before and it just made me feel empty...purposeless. Being a Christian gives me a purpose, and even though I know this Organization is faulty, right now it's all I have to fall back on. I don't know what else to do, or what to turn to.
I don't know if I'm making any sense at all, but I just needed to rant. :/
I wish the big questions in life weren't so hard to answer.
