  Jesus died on a stake or a cross?

  this is something i've been puzzling over recently.

  just for argument's sake, let's say that jesus did exist - was he murdered on a stake or on a cross?

  this is puzzling me, because the only real research i've ever read on the subject was in wtbts publications, and since this is obviously a highly questionable source of documentation, i'd love it if someone here could point me to a scientific resource for finding out the truth about this...thx.... the earlier in the forenoon you take the sun bath, the greater will be the beneficial effect, because you get more of the ultra-violet rays, which are healing.

  RWC: It's a control thing - if they are different from the world, then it almost seems to 'vindicate' the Governing Body's 'research'. This is then used to prove the case to outsiders, ie. 'worldly' people.

  But the instant the GB is ever proved wrong about anything it simply gets swept under the carpet. That is why most younger Dubs today are encouraged not to read very old Watchtowers, and not to read any of the really old books that the WTBTS published. Are you familiar with the farcical practice of "New Light" which the WTBTS seems to introduce to cover their asses every now and then? I suggest you read the archived threads on this board a bit, and do a search for the WTBTS on Google. Your questions will then be answered.

  At this rate, the BOrganization is going to go into a crazy tailspin any second now, what with the first-rate mentalities that are at it's helm. Or something.

  It's still amazing for me to think that I was like that only a few years ago. The programmed fear of questioning is a very powerful, dangerous thing, and the people who do the programming are very good at it.

  Fear makes the world go round, man! And it especially makes the BOrganization go round. Do you think that anyone would have become a Dub if they knew what the BOrganization was really like, what it has said in the past, how many lives it's taken?

  which can only be eaten in ten years time.. so i make my prediction first.. 1.the society will have had a major doctrine change as to 1914 and 144,000.. 2.most will leave the org due to disillusionment.. 3.there will be a breakaway group of more fanatical witness they will be the orthodox witnesses.. there will also be a group of the liberal witnesses but will not last as long while the other group will grow.. do i win the cake?

  I was only stating TRUE FACTS, PuffsRule, and it is always a delight to point out the blatant chauvinism of the WTBTS, especially to hardcore types like ole' HenryP here. I'm willing to bet money he had a lot of power in the Congregation - he's perfect for the job.

  I'm just waiting to see what he says about it! He'll probably dodge all of my argument tho...

  But anyway, it's not a problem. These are some of the things I saw when I was growing up, and nothing can change that fact, no matter how many Bible verses Mr. HenryP spouts. He can talk Dub lingo till he is blue in the face, but he won't change any of these HARD FACTS.

  i am so sick of being bothered by jws(we are inactive);every weekend we can count on someone from the hall stopping by either saturday or sunday.

  it makes me mad because i know they are counting time with me.

  NinjaTurtle: I find it hard to reconcile myself with your version of "worshipping your Creator". Last time I checked worshipping your Creator didn't involve having old guys reading you scripts prepared by a bunch of even older guys in New York, based on their own, hopelessly warped interpretations of a book of fairytales.
