No1Special: I wasn't advocating whole-sale screwing! Perhaps my analogy was slightly inaccurate as you noted. Basically what I mean is, you've gotta check that you're sexually compatible with someone before you make such a long-term commitment. I don't like the idea of running headlong into something that could destroy your life without all the facts.
My own personal experience has been that doing that sort of thing in a serious relationship where you don't really love the other person tends to stuff it up tho. So I'm careful. You've just gotta take it easy, I guess. There's no sense in denying your humanity and arguing with your chromosomes just so that the concept of marriage (which BTW was developed by other, chauvinistic people specifically to control the sexuality of women) still stands up for you.
Surely most of the people on this board are beyond that sort of thing? As adults we need to decide for ourselves, and not let a bunch of old men dictate to us what our lives should be like.

It's just something I like doing. I borrowed the habit from John C. Dvorak, who did all his columns in PC Magazine this way. They're just to help you read back the text the way I have it in my head...because when we talk, we don't talk using flat words, we place emphasis on different vowels and words etc., and that is the thing that makes human speech beautiful. Just trying to add some life to the board!

I was part of a huge top-secret experiment
by Quotes injust had a flashback i thought i would share.. i distinctly remember, when i was only about 8 or 10 years old, suddenly having what one might call an epiphany.. i thought that my entire life and existence was part of some huge social science experiment (of course i didn't use this language when i was 10 years old, but am simply trying to use the correct words to describe my childish feelings).. i felt that my parents weren't really my parents, but were part of the stimulii to provoke a reaction from me; a reaction which was intensely studied by unseen scientists who were watching me, 24/7.
i speculated about whether or not my school friends were "in on it" of if that was "real world" and only my home life was part of the study.. here's the kicker.
i thought that the whole jw religion was the centerpiece of the experiment.

Sometimes I do feel that something is watching me. It's just this gut feeling that I get every now and then, and it's terrifying. I wasn't born with second sight or anything fancy like that, but sometimes I do *sense* things before they happen, and I can read people's emotions like books, so maybe I have a bit of the 6th sense?
It's a horrid feeling, tho, and I fully agree with you, Quotes. Idea: What if the whole WTBTS thing was just something a TV producer engineered to keep you from doing naughty things so his show featuring you could become family viewing? Think about it...one of the main aspects of being a Dub involves NOT being naughty in any non-PG way.
Can't come to work today. Voices in my head told me to stay home & clean the guns.

What I'd like to know is, all these people who say they are saving themselves for their wedding night (women especially): what exactly are you saving? Your innocence?
For all eternity the definition of virginity has been a pretty shakey one. Women for instance can tear their hymen simply by riding a horse slightly too vigorously, or falling down a flight of steps.
I don't see why people even bother labelling themselves as virgins - why not rather be a bit more candid and just say "Look, I've had sex" or "No, I haven't had sex".
Sex isn't the horrid thing that most people like to portray it as.
But this is a social thing, as per usual. A lot of the smaller, more obscure cultures on Earth see sex as a beautiful, natural thing, and that's the view I like to go with. There are no 'virgins' in many of these societies.
Would you buy a car if you hadn't taken it for a test drive first? What if you and your husband are *physically* incompatible in bed? Would you like to live with that sexually incompatible man for the rest of your life? Surely it's easier just to try it a coupla times rather than have an expensive, painful divorce years later?
