  i've been lurking here for some time now.

  i'm not a jw, never been a jw, and don't plan on becoming a jw...however my life has been effected by the jw's whether i like it or not (dad's death/mom's conversion).

  seems most here are exjw's or jws...so i'm not too sure if i'm welcome or not?

  I'm sorry to hear about your lost. I, myself am a former JW. I was raised in that orgization, have just left it about 6 months ago. One thing JWs are trained to pay attention to people who has lost a loved one to death, or is going through hard times, things such as family problems, job loss, death, ect. They are trained on how to talk to such ones and to "comfort" such ones. The reason being, is because those ones are more receptive (easer) to bring in to their group.

  A few years ago, just before I started to regular pioneer. I asked the elder who handles these papers to give me the forms to fill out for pioneering. He came back from his office with this odd grin on his face and handed me that form, the one for disfelloshipping, instead of the one that I wanted. I almost started to fill it out, untill I noticed what it said. Talking about a very weird filling.

  The conversation has died down when the Texan sees a herd of

  6:18. while sexuality is a gift from god, it is not to be expressed without restrain, even within the marriage arrangement....... are they now disfellowshiping people for fornicating within the marriage arrangement?.

  talk about going beyond what the scriptues say.

  just been called for a jc next saturday because of a few things i've said.

  last nite 2 elders came over an try to "correct" me on the naos rev 7:15 thing.

  you should of heard the arguments they were giving.. one elder gave me the "i'd rather be wrong and be in the org than right and alone" thing and one gave me the story (i'm currently working fulltime) about the brother who could of had a job or gone to the ms school (he went to the ms school) and if he took the job, he would of been dead cos it was in the world trade centre.

  Man, that shows how dumb some people are. I guess if their top guy told them to jump off a bridge, they would. Some times being wrong can cost a person their life. Let's take defusing a bomb for example:
  The green wire to defuse the bomb, and the red wire would cause the bomb to go off. A smart person would of course cut the green wire. But they would say I'd rather cut the red wire because that is what the top guy said to do. I don't think they would be listening to them then, would they?

  Talking about haunts. My husband showed me this house in a town that I use to live at. We drove by this house and told me a story that happen to a friend of his.
  His friend and another JW was out in service and they came to that house, and knocked on the door. Now I must also say, that there was no one home, because no one has lived there for some time. But they heard a voice say, "Go away!" But they did not leave right away, they had to mark the house down with the reply. Apparently the house did not think they left soon enough. So it threw bricks at the two JWs up on the porch. Bricks came right out of the walls. So you could picture the expressions on these two JWs. They high tailed it out of there. While doing so, Jim, (my husband friend) turned around this is what he saw--the bricks floated back into the place where they had come out.
  Now you can believe this story or not. I know I had a hard time grasping the tale. So I went right to the sorce, and sure enough it was true.
