  Do they take the GB seriously?

  so this is an honest question that i have been thinking about for some time.. do regular jehovahś witnesses in other countries (other than the usa) take the governing body in new york seriously?.

  i mean, i cant help but wonder about the publishers in japan, or south africa, or mexico, or new zealand, or even the uk, or spain, or italy...... or russia?.

  not you and i (we know what you think of them), but the regular jwś...... do they take these american buffoons seriously?

  DOC I sincerely hope they keep him on JW.Org TV channel , if anything should wake up a JW it should be watching this guy and his facial contortions.

  He missed his vocation ,he would have been a hoot on the comedy channel .

  the special public talk, entitled “Who Really Is Jesus Christ?,”

  What can they say about Jesus Christ that hasn`t been said thousands of times before and no one is any the wiser .

  Is Jesus mute ? Is Jehovah mute ? Neither have said anything for 2000 years ?

  Shouldn`t the talk really be titled W.T.F. has Jesus Christ been doing for the past 103 years since he has supposedly been ruling from 1914 till now ?

  2017 Kingdom Hall in Chile with Flag with Meeting

  finally, after 5 years, we have received footage that shows, unmistakably, that there was a flag in the kingdom hall, while a meeting was happening.here is the video:https://youtu.be/uel3otw6gemi will post this year's pictures below.

  this year we had pictures and video of three different kingdom halls with the flag!.

  That's because they're only supposed to put up the flag on September 18 and 19, their Independence Day celebrations.

  Thank you for elaborating on that ILoveTTATT2 ,so it`s not something they need to display all the time .

  When you think about it is it such a big deal ? According to Rom.13 ,Christians are to be in subjection to the superior authorities ,the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God.

  And displaying a flag should no more be a problem than standing for a judge in a court of law .

  Its just a matter of showing respect for the office in question.

  The first "KH" I ever attended was a rented hall in Melbourne Central congregation that had a picture of the queen in the room.

  I was only knew then and as far as I know their was never any problem .this was in 1960 .

  How long do you think it'll be before we see Caleb and Sophia taking the plunge?

  I`m looking forward to the time when Caleb and Sophia become one of us and ditch the JW religion. LOL

  Seriously though:

  The fact that the JW religion is targeting the young to get baptised and enforcing a strict code of acceptance that goes with baptism on these young people and then the eventual JC that will take place when these young children infringe on these rules and regulations causing stress and emotional upheaval within the families concerned is eventually going to have a drastic affect on the religion in my opinion

  While their are many sad experiences on here where parents have shunned their children and vice versa ,their are still other parents who believe blood is thicker than water and will not shun their own children as well as children who will not shun their parents because of religious differences.

  In the last 20 years How Many Changes Have Occurred in Watchtower Beliefs?

  jehovah's witnesses say that they have the truth and the truth is constant.

  they believe that what they teach is the truth that comes directly from jehovah god.

  can you think of anything that has changed in the last 20 years to show a jehovah's witness that the truth is not necessarily the truth..

  Jehovah`s Witnesses don`t care how many changes have taken place because that fact proves they are the "true" religion .

  What other religion is honest enough to change ,actually modify their beliefs when they are found to be wrong ? None.

  Why then do JW`s change ? because they believe the light gets brighter and brighter as the day draws near and change proves they have the "truth".

  google news featured the following article.

  will the world end on saturday?...then there were the followers of charles taze russell, a 19th-century preacher who looked for jesus’ return and the resurrection of the dead (christians only, please) in 1878 (and again in 1914).

  they became jehovah’s witnesses, who now ring doorbells around the world (and are persecuted for it in some places — looking at you, russia).

  C.T.Russell did predict the end of the "World in 1914 as we know it " and all of his believers going to heaven.

  Of course when it didnt happen ,they had to give reasons for this not happening .

  Which eventually gave birth to the doctrine of "The light gets brighter day by day " in other words when your prophecies dont come true blame it on the light gets brighter and we will come up with another interpretation .

  Thats why we have old truths and new truths , and present truths ,what could be more simpler than that.

  When our expectations ,evident realities don`t come to fruition ,it`s because we havent kept up with God`s chariot ,the new light ?

  So the next time JW`s call on your door or you come across a JW cart make sure you get the present truth and not the old truth ,however make sure you ask them if they have the future truth because that should be more beneficial to you.

  John 1:3

  john 1:3 states in the nwt, "all things came into existence through him, and apart from him (the word, or jesus) not even one thing came into existence.".

  the wt states apart from him one thing came into existence, that is, jesus the first created being.. is there an explanation for this apparent contradiction?.

  Gen.3:22 , " here the man has become like one of us " obviously he is either talking to his peers,his equals .?

  Or was he talking to other members of the Trinity .?

  If he was talking to the word or logos he is putting them or him on the same level as himself as being equal to him.?

  Whatever you think Jehovah wasn`t talking to himself

  Did you ever buy into 1975?

  for those of you that can remember.... did you really believe that armageddon was going to come in 1975?

  i was a child of the 60s, in my teens in the 70s and can honestly say that i never bought into it.

  i saw brothers and sisters selling their homes and moving into rented property.

  I guess I was one of those who hedged their bets ,it was an interesting thought that 6000 years of human history would end in 1975 and that it would be appropiate for the 1000 year of Christs reign to begin.

  I was a fence sitter as far as that belief was concerned , it could happen ,it may not happen.And the society did indicate both of those scenarios ,though the emphathis was mainly that it could happen.

  And unlike many who have responded so far I was 36 years old and a MS and because I didnt buy into it completely I didnt leave the JWs ` till the early `90`S

  I think it was here I learned many years later that the IBSA the fore-runner of JW`s believed the 6000 years ended in the late 1800`s and that is why they believed 1914 was the end of the system of Things and they would be transported to heaven in that year.

  Folly of claiming “only we have the truth”

  one’s mindset and its conditioning pursue what one believes to be the “truth” which it says ‘i can perceive with my senses.

  this makes possible for the life to be perceived in many different ways.

  imagine all were born blind.
