Parents who try to make you feel guilty.

when parents say all the things we've done for you and your not doing anything for us in return like going to meetings, witnessing, answering up etc... how do you respond to parents?.

If you or your parents do believe in a GOD ,who gave you a brain to think and reason for yourself then it would be going against GOD`s arrangement if you only followed and acted upon what others told you or wanted you to do.

And not "do or act" on what your brain tells you to do with a clear conscience .

It never ceases to amaze me how & why so many people live their lives dictated by what other people will think of them instead of living their own lives by what they want to do.

They just waste their own lives trying to please other people.

Its crazy.

You only have one life ,don`t waste it trying to please other people , life is short enough as it is.

Why the NFL Protest Is a Massive and Insulting Failure

i think everyone has the freedom to protest, they also have freedom of speech, these are two fundamental things that make america amazing.

but thinking rationally about what is going on with the nfl, therefore, i have an unfavorable opinion of the league, and the players, not their right to free speech, but their motive and execution of it.

constitutional freedom to protest ends at the workplace door too.

The NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to honour victims of 9/11 and stopped the Dallas Cowboys from wearing an "arm in arm" design on their helmets to honour fallen police officers

It`s the same league that once fined a player ,William Gay a victim of domestic violence whose mother was murdered by her partner for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness of the issue.

For many sports fans it`s a bit rich for the NFL to suddenly be concerned with it`s players freedom of expression.

Every American has a constitutional right to disrespect the National anthem or the flag.But that doesn`t mean this protest isn`t idiotic and counter productive to say the least.

I think it`s been a win for Donald Trump.

the australian govt has set out a survey to see if people are in favour of changing the marriage act to include same sex couples.. hm here have received their papers?

the survey promises to be anonymous but has a substantial bar code at the bottom... anonymous yeah right.. the marriage act once said "two people" then a previous prime minister changed it to say "man and woman" all that is needed to amend this situation as required by the gay community is change it back again to "two people" there, done and dusted.. and millions of dollars need not be wasted on this survey which is not compulsory as is voting in australia.

can anyone here who still goes to kh tell us if this has had a ruling from the platform?.

My understanding has always been Adults in Australia are required by law to have your name on the Electoral role and to not do so is a criminal offence which could land you in trouble.

And I believe this was the position of the WT in giving to Caesar what belongs to Caesar obeying the law of the land however voting for another Government was when you obeyed God as ruler and not men.

"You can`t serve two masters"

So long as your name is on the Electoral role and as a JW you refuse to vote because of your religious beliefs you were never fined it is a legitimate reason for not voting.

For over 33 years as a JW I never voted and gave my reasons for not doing so and was never prosecuted.

Both of these main Govt`s. in Australia know how to waste taxpayers money.Not so long ago the Govt. conducted a Census ,they could have saved the taxpayers thousands of dollars by just adding this question to the Census ,but no that would be too easy

.This issue has been around for a long time.

As has been pointed out it is only a survey and is not compulsory to vote and is not binding on the Government to act according to the results that are voted on by the Australian people .

When the results are in the Government can either accept or reject the findings of the survey.

Simply because of those facts mentioned above I just threw the postal survey in the bin when I received it .

This Government will do whatever it wants to do regardless of what the majority of the people vote for.

The whole exercise is a distraction for the Govt.to what really concerns the voting public of Australians and that is Jobs ,manufacturing jobs,electricity prices ,shutting down coal power stations while selling coal overseas,having shortages of gas here because we sell it all overseas leaving a shortfall here.While we have an abundance here of both gas and coal for our own use and we are denied it and are paying exorbitant prices for it when it should be relatively cheap.

A Korean Tragedy

the modern history is full of deep, dark tragedies.

and, my intention, as i sat down to write of those tragedies for a fb page i look after for a macquarie university student society, was to tell the story of these very dark contemporary events.

but east asia history is complex and i think its helpful to try to have an overview of that history to understand what has happened in the recent past.

An organization that is doing well Financially expands its organization with growth and adding more people to handle the growth and invests in real estate and human resources ,people for the expected growth .

An organization that is having difficulties ,downsizes ,cuts costs ,and cuts staff ,sells real estate , equipment etc. to minimize their losses .

I think it`s obvious what side of the equation the JW religion is on ,it`s just a matter of time before they are just a fringe religion with very few members compared to their heyday.

Never let us forget though that "the women declaring the Good News are a large army" but apparently an underrated army at that by the JW`s.

It amazed me how women could have have a place in heaven ruling with Christ Jesus for a thousand years because of their anointing on earth prior to their death ,yet while alive in there respective congregations they had no authority or say simply because they were women.?

On the one hand they were "a large army of faithful witnesses" (anointed ones included ) yet had no say in congregational matters on earth ,yet on death the anointed women could now rule with Jesus for a thousand years ?

As a side note :Illustrations of those anointed women gaining heaven by the WT are never depicted as women somehow they are always portrayed as males with a beard.Why is that ?

I was always led to believe from WT teachings that Angels were neither male or female .

Are the anointed who gain heaven to rule with JC Angels ? If so why are they all depicted as having beards ? A male trait.

If the anointed who gain heaven are not classed as Angels then what/who are they ? and why do they all have a beard ?

i truly cant believe just how brazen the society seems to be getting - and how desperate they are!.

Correct me if I am wrong I have been out for over 25 years ,so instead of just asking for members to just increase their contributions they have all these different projects they want you to contribute to ?

How many different projects are they requesting members to contribute to as opposed to the one general contribution we had 30-50 odd years ago.?

Remember how they challenged Christendom for putting ATM machines in churches and now they do the same thing .

How they challenged Churches for having big TV screens in Churches? and now they have the same thing.

And how can they say with a straight face they don`t beg for money .....when they do ?
