What Is The Most Ridiculous Thing You Have Heard From A Witness?
by minimus ini remember an elder questioning a woman who had admitted to giving and receiving oral sex from her unbelieving mate.
he asked her the most intimate questions which clearly flustered her.
interestingly, she “confessed “ to the elders because her conscience bothered her.

1.Jehovah`s have preached in all the inhabited earth ? No they haven`t.
2.Jehovah`s Witnesses are the only ones who preach Bible truth ? How come since they keep changing the "truth"
3.We abhor child sex abusers,:
Then why has there been such a cover up and a failure to report abusers of child sexual abuse in so many congregations all around the world ?
Elders conducting judicial Committee meetings in house about allegations of child sexual abuse and not once contacting the police or child protection authorities about these allegations and meeting out sanctions either against the perpetrator and even the victim of such an abuse in certain situations.

Anybody here like to dabble on the roulette wheel ?
by smiddy3 ini came to the conclusion a long time ago that many jehovah`s witnesses are very superstitious in my opinion.. if after leaving the jw`s or even sometime before leaving the jw`s you may have been tempted to use the pokie`s /slots or the lotto , or even the roulette wheel at a casino .
now did you know that if you add up all the numbers on a roulette wheel it adds up to 666 .?.
now i have no problem myself playing lotto ,keno ,scratchies ,etc, however ,would i ever play the roulette wheel ever again ?.

The thing with gambling of any sort is only to play with a set amount you can afford to lose and hopefully come out a winner .
And never try to recover your losses .
If you do have a win use it to benefit yourself in some way by getting something you need or want for you personally or your home or loved ones.
The problem with gambling is it can easily become an addiction and that is a real problem that can destroy marriages and families.
And society/Governments today are hypocritical as to their approach to this problem ,advertising is all over the media to wager in one form or another and on the other hand advertise against gambling.
Though I guess they are trying to strike a balance ,however they do benefit financially from gamblers overall.

JW father in law in hospital, this weekend, maybe last days of his life. With his last energy he was reading a Watchtower magazine for comfort. I could understand.
I`m sorry that you are going through this Gorby obviously you still have a strong connection with your father in law and relatives .
You were their for your father in law and he got comfort from the Mags.
You did the humane thing comforting your father in law in his last days in spite of you not agreeing with his point of view.
As for the quality of the magazines Jehovah`s Witnesses printed they never came within cooee (an Australian expression ) of "The plain Truth" a high gloss magazine freely given away for free many years before the WT gave their mags away for nothing.
take care Bro.

The map of ex Jehovah's-Witnesses and their friends
by Roxie ini am an ex-jw and a member of this forum (not so active lately ;)).
in poland, we created a map of ex-jws (and their friends ;)) to find former friends from the organization or to contact someone living close to them.
many people found each other after many years outside of the organization thanks to this tool.

I have added my email to this site I hope it catches on sounds like a good idea to connect with former JW`s.
It`s also great to see visually how many people from all over the world are leaving the "Borg"-anization .
One minor problem I see is the size of the "marker" it`s too big and is hard to pinpoint an adjoining person to it ?
Just my 2 cents worth.
Otherwise a great site /idea.

Movie-goers can be fickle (great movies that should've enjoyed huge box-office success)
by LoveUniHateExams injust thought i'd start a thread about this topic.. john carpenter's the thing (1982) was a great film, one of his best imo.
for me, it's right up there with alien (1979) as one of the greatest sci-fi horror films ever made.
and yet one film made anything between $100 - 200 million at the box office whereas the other made only $19 million.

How about the original Planet Of The Apes with Chuck Heston, or Robinson Crusoe On Mars ,The Day The Earth Stood Still, with M. Rennie or Forbidden Planet Leslie Neilson ,and the Colour Purple nominated for twelve Oscars and never received one ,shame on the Academy.

Last days as defined by the 'still current' Reasoning book
by joey jojo inreasoning book pg.234 onwards ( from the jw org website):.
last days.
definition: the bible uses the expression “last days” to refer to the concluding time period leading up to a divinely appointed execution that marks the end of a system of things.

What other organization religious or secular is ashamed and hides evidence of their past history especially a religion who has produced millions of books, tracts, pamphlets, and magazines in their more than 130+ year history and now disowns / disputes /disagrees with the bulk of information that they ever published ?
How can they in all seriousness still claim to be the only "true" religion when they have trashed every "truth" they have ever published in over 130+ years of publishing their "Bible Truths" that are now cast aside .?

Memorial Question
by charity7 inhi guys.
my husband is a jw and i have a question because yesterday was the memorial.
i was wondering how they pick the date for the memorial because, even though religious groups are celebrating today as easter, next sunday is actually the anniversary date of the resurrection according to the jewish calendar?

For the sake of charity7 and other newbies ,lurkers , could you please elaborate on your statement that the Gospels differ as to what night Jesus held the last supper ?
