Prayers ,are they answered ? or is it just self delusion ?

after 33 years as a jw and leaving 25 years ago i think prayer can be summed up with the jews praying at the wailing wall.. all they are doing is talking to a brick wall ,and getting no feed back.

and they expect an answer to their prayers ?!.

christians /other beliefs might find that funny but they are no better off.. prayer is always a one way street you talk either vocally or mentally to god however you never get the same back .. if god " so loved the world that he doesnt want any to be destroyed but have everlasting life " then whats the problem with him audibly answering his servants prayers ?

I`m surprised it hasn`t been made into a movie ,its almost unbelievable to be true but obviously it is.

For those not familiar with the book just a brief outline.

" In the 1920`s the richest people per capita in the world were the members of the Osage Indian nation in Oklahoma.After oil was discovered beneath their land ,they rode in chauffeured automobiles,built mansions and sent their children to study in Europe.

Then one by one the Osage began to be killed off" " a true life murder story which became one of the FBI`s first major homicide investigations".

Assembly experiences that strech the truth

elder and his wife build a flash house.. they go on the stage at an assembly and give an experiences of how they sold the flash house to simplify their life so they can go pioneering.. the real story.. elder and wife can't afford the flash house and have to sell it he never goes pioneering she does until they are declared bankrupt.. why were they bankrupt?.

the money leaft over from the flash house they invested in a yet to be build apartment and the developer goes bankrupt takeing their money.. just one of many.. karter..

Translating accurately is really f*&%$ing hard!

i wanted to relay an example that i heard about translating difficulties.

take the 5 word phrase.

"i didn't eat your sandwich".

And how many Bible Dictionaries ,Commentaries,Theologian discussions,Thesis,Translators of Hebrew Greek ancient and modern ,linguists ,etc ,etc.will it take to come to an acceptably accurate translation of the Bible ?

Never.

And if after 2000 years GOD has not joined the discussion ,I don`t think I will bother either.

Oh yeah wasn`t that when the GB said that "they" would be crying out peace and security ? in the world ?

And didnt the United Nations declare a year of Peace & Security in the 1980`s when instant destruction was to follow ?

And we are all still here except for many faithfull old JW`s who had put their faith in the GB of Jehovahs Witnesses and died before any of JW`s expectations ,evident realities about prophecies ever eventuated or was fullfilled .

Unacknowledged!

so...i watched the new netflix movie, "uncknowledged" by dr steven greer today fierce hearing to dj's discussing it on the radio, minds blown.

it makes a strong case for ufo's and totally screws up jw doctrine about the earth having the only intelligent life in the universe, as it is where the issue of universal sovereignty is played out and decided....the gb will need to do some fast talking.

it will be fascinating to blow some jw minds with this.

Just to clarify my post Awakenednow my thoughts/opinion was about Dr Steven Greer and not whether or not alien life forms exist .

I have Netflix so I must avail myself to watch it and comment again after I have seen it.

When I was about 16 years old a group of friends witnessed strange sightings and wired manoeu`vre`s in the night sky that repeated itself 3 times ,one such older person sought to find out if the Airforce had planes over the area on the night in question and the answer was no.

And their was also another unexplained sighting two of us witnessed some years before.

????

My bet is if he does come back it will be with the stock answer :

"Even if their are no original texts still available Jehovah will have made sure that the texts that are available will be the same as the originals. He will make sure of that .After all he is GOD."

How do you argue with that logic.?
