i used to get a weird feeling in my stomach when i would see a witness approaching.... almost a sense of dread.
now, i really don’t care.
i have even made it a point to do the approaching when i see a witness trying to convert an ignorant person..
It all depends on my mood at the time .sometimes I relish having a discussion with them (if and when I see them )
and at other times I can`t be bothered getting into a discussion with them.
However when I am in the mood I have no problem challenging them on their beliefs and practices .
as some of you may remember from a previous post of mine, myself and my husband are in the process of fading.
we began our fade in jan 2017 and haven't been to a meeting since may 2017. to say this time has been a struggle is an understatement.
it has been a lonely time for us, losing all of our so called friends.

I know it`s a shock to realize that people you knew as "friends" for most of your life at least a good part of your life can suddenly seem to disown you almost overnight .
The sad fact is JW friendship is conditional upon you remaining in the club of JW.
You leave for whatever reason justified or not doesn`t matter you left so now you are to be ostracized .
And it can take a long time to get over it or not that is up to you.
Some good advice has been given that is to replace your social loss with new social activities because when you think about it the JW religion is a form of a social club ,your mixing with people who have a common interest involved .
All you and your husband have to do is find some other social club/interest that you both enjoy and join that club and their are so many around for you to choose from .
And it is not necessary for you both to join the same club you might have a different interest from that of your husband and vice versa , no big deal both of you enjoy the club of your choice , and share experiences.
And when you do you will be surprised how many genuine friends with no conditions attached you will meet up with .

I think it`s all about the dollars $$$$$ ,look at all the prime real estate that they are getting big bucks for in N.Y.S.
over a Billion Dollars at last count.
Where is all that money going ? they are selling off Branches around the world
They are selling off and merging KH`s around the world .
They are selling off and merging Convention/Assembly halls around the world
They are cutting down printing operations and selling off printing equipment around the world reducing printing products no new hardbound books ,no calendars , no yearbooks , reducing Watchtower and Awake publications drastically ,
Mimicking Christendoms religions in installing TV`s in existing KH`s opening up their own brand of TV Evangelizing with JW.org ,adding credit card contributions at Conventions and Assembly`s that they once criticized Christendom for and always ,always begging for more money to keep the work going.
Something that Charles Taze Russell the Founder of the I.B.S.A. the forerunner of Jehovah`s Witnesses said he would never do .
And they even want the pocket money parents give to children of JW`s as depicted in the Sophie /Caleb videos.
it's goodbye to bristol - hengrove congregation of jw's and the inmates ... err ... members, will be sent to two other bristol congregations either side of it.. i'm told by two elders from bristol, england it is being disbanded on may 1st 2018. this is the 2nd congregation in this circuit to be disbanded recently - the 1st being portishead in late 2014.. hooray!.

my wife's parents are in a bad way.
she went to visit and her mother has alzheimer and father has a hart condition.
they are jws and he quit his job at gm many years ago for 1975. he moved to where the need was great to wait for the end.
I would just like to add that your wife`s parents bought their own tickets putting all of their faith and trust in this religion and it`s leaders and now they now need to accept the consequences of their actions .
I`ts not your wife`s fault nor your fault for the choices her parents made.
That they have to live with it is nobody`s fault but their own .
i am not a jw, but know a jw family.
seem very loving and happy.
i have come to know the religion and have researched via this site,youtube, reddit etc.
Welcome to the forum Salley as you say you are not and I presume never a JW is that right.?
Shunning of any family member who has been baptized whether it is for leaving the religion or talking against the beliefs of the religion no matter how old you were when you were baptized 8-10 years old the same penalty applies .You are ostracized until you go through normally a year of grovelling to the elders in how repentant you are of your sin in questioning the Governing Body or committing some sin as smoking cigarettes .
Suicide ? I have known a few who have committed suicide because of this religion and I will leave it up to others to fill you in on this sad aspect as I have been out more than 25 years now.

Catholics have Easter with over 1 billion members Earth wide celebrating along with the majority of Protestant Religions which number over 1 billion members also .
And we have Jehovah`s Witnesses who have been preaching in all the inhabited Earth (gag) only in lands already witnessed to by Christendom whom they have poached from for about 140 years and only can muster up 18 million half of which do not and will not commit to the JW faith only going for family mainly and friends because of emotional blackmail.
Correct me if I am wrong but I would hazard a guess that at least a third of the worlds population has never been witnessed to or even heard of Jehovah`s witnesses today in the year 2018
So much for witnessing to the world or the ends of the earth.
Not to mention all of the other Eastern Orthodox Religions ,Russian Orthodox Religions ,Polish National Catholics ,Greek Orthodox Religions and many many more

Hero / Idol worship of brothers who were considered important in the circuits / assembly`s / conventions goes back a long long way .
Nothing new here I had seen it often in my 33 years as a witness.
And passed it off as immaturity of the publishers involved and not giving much thought as to how the recipients of such adoration were basking in their glory as objects of others adoration .
