He mentions the book "Jehovah`s witnesses in The Divine Purpose" where they supposedly relate their early history and its beginnings with C.T.Russell .

It in itself is a sugar coated version of their history as they re-write their history and re-interpretate previous beliefs held by them

I dont have that book now and am just going by memory

I`m not sure whether this fits in with what he was referring to or not .I`m not sure whether this was in the book or not.

Marley Cole authored a book called "Jehovah`s Witnesses A new World Society" may years ago and he palmed himself off as a non witness and the "Society " quoted him as such .

It came out much later that Marley Cole was a dedicated baptised Jehovah`s Witness when he wrote the book and the J.W.were very much aware of it .

Their deceit was exposed.

Maybe he was alluding to that .

now that we have stepped away from the jw faith, how do you feel about the bible itself?.

what about those awkward sections of scripture?

how did you rationalise or justify those sections?.

Which genocide in the Bible are you talking about Drearyweather for there are many that occurs in the Hebrew/Old testament scriptures that have the sanction and blessing of a so called God of love of humans ,whereas what took place in WW1 and WW2 while not being condoned were committed by imperfect / bad human beings .

You cannot compare them to the Almighty God of Creation surely.

Teachings/beliefs that fade into oblivion without explanation.

"millions now living will never die" that teaching persisted for a number of years from the early 1920`s ,sad to say that their would not be anywhere near millions alive today.and with another few years their won`t be anybody alive .. the year 1925 was supposed to see the resurrection of faithful men of old such as abraham issac and jacob and noah who were to be princes in the earth.

of course no such thing happened and we don`t here anything more about that prediction anymore.. the time period between adams creation and eves creation was an excuse why armageddon was delayed in about october 1975 because they didn`t know how much time had elapsed between the two.

One might ask did Jesus Christ begin his rule in A.D.33 ? 1914? or 1976 ? or some other time that the JW/GB are going to pull out of their hat ?

The Jehovah`s Witness Governing Body have never ever apologized for misleading any of their members and many of them to their deaths.

how often have we heard some sort of sensationalist urban legend as jws?.

here is an example i was told as a kid:.

the experience of a sister who knocked on a door and was greeted by a big fierce looking man- intimidating and mean.

Elvis Presley takes the Watchtower magazines and was studying .

Queen Elizabeth accepts the NW Translation of the Bible and was studying .

A guy bought some object he liked at a second hand store and when he got home after a while he started having Demon attacks when he was told by the Elders it was because of the object he bought from the second hand shop he took it out the front door and through it into a vacant lot across the street .

Next thing he know`s is that the object bounces back into his house .

Once the Demons get their claws into you their hard to get rid of.

As has been said before "you can`t make this shit up " ?

With all due respect Xanthippe you could then have asked then why did the J.W`s/ G.B.

keep promoting dates going back to the late 1800`s well into the end of the 20th Century whereby the New World should have been ushered in.

All those dates have been well documented here and elsewhere including the WTB&TS own publications .

1874 ,1879,1914,1918,1919,1925,1975 ,2000 , if that does not prove they are false profits I don`t know what else could convince the gullible.

Why does any belief system whether it be religious ,secular,political or otherwise have to be "The Truth" as though it is the ultimate that we all strive to attain ?

Their is no such thing.

Its an illusion , a fantasy , a pie in the sky ideal , it does not exist .

when the world shuns jws because of difference of opinion, it is described as the action of satan.. when jws shun others because of difference of opinion, it is described as theocratic action.. such confused mind is at the root of getting wrong teachings.

jws shun anything what anyone would rate as the best of the bible or christian traditions:.

1)cross (with a longer descending arm) is the symbol of controlling the less powerful (“acts of the flesh”) with the more powerful (“spirit” within)—galatians 5:17, 19, 25.

God of the Universe who is begging help from his fallen/weak children so that God Almighty may be empowered to give an answer to the taunt of Satan.

That does not sound like an Almighty GOD the Creator of the Universe to me.! More like a weak insecure being seeking validation from a failed human experiment that he tried .and is now appealing to them to get him out of the mess he created ?
