  "We're involved in a life saving work"?

  as my wife left for fs this morning (aka gossip and coffee time with her friends) she mentioned to me that one of the parts in the clam meeting this week was:.

  to remind the 'faithful' that, "we are involved in a life saving work!".

  so i just calmly mentioned to her that if he really wanted to, jehoober could save thousands of lives every day just by controlling the weather or providing just clean water or just a just a few loaves and fishes!.

  It`s sad to say that the R&F of Jehovah`s Witnesses are very delusional ,the majority of people who they call upon at their doors have no clue , no idea of why they are their except to gain a contribution ? or to join their church .

  they have no idea that J.W.`s teach :

  They will be destroyed at Armageddon if they don`t become JW`s.

  God is going to destroy this world system of things Govts./ Religions and every thing in between and that they are a part of.

  That Satan is the God of this system of things and they are supporting Satan by being a part of the world and all that it encompasses .

  That they and their family and children are going to die at Armageddon unless they become Jehovah` Witnesses .

  God is going to destroy all that you know and are familiar with and turn this earth into a paradise like in Eden.

  Politics and all of it`s systems and Babylonish Religion will be a thing of the past you will be living under a Theocracy and have no say ,no input as to how it is run.

  just some of the things I can think of at the top of my hat .

  i have been out a good 10+ years and until recently didnt pay much attention to what the jehovahs are up to.. why have they taken this turn with the bunker videos and making all the brainwashed people like my parents pack a go bag.

  now let me just clarify.

  im a military man i believe everyone should have an element of preparedness canned goods,bottled water and a bug out bag is a great addition ( ill stop waffling on about that now).. but what concerns me is the fact they are advising elderly people to bug out.

  there needs to be a better plan then a bag with a tin foil blanket and a book of elders phone numbers in it to evacuate less abled people to some safe house in another elders basement.

  It`s true that you can`t make this s##t up?

  The elderly people have have left their home with a GoBag to some supposedly "safehouse" read "bunker" whereby the elders are still living in their comfortable homes waiting for the poor saps to ring them for advice ?

  And in an elders basement ? why the need for his phone number ?

  Obviously Jehovah and Christ Jesus never felt the same way about Satan as Jehovah`s Witnesses do ? or other Christians for that matter .

  simply put , jehovah tolerated satan coming and going before him in the heavenly realm for six thousand years before having him cast out of heaven .. think about that, six thousand years .!

  and having conversations jehovah and satan .no shunning of him in all this time .6000 years.

  we have an example of that in the book of job.and elsewhere.. the same is true with jesus christ ,according to the jehovah`s witnesses he was the first born of all creation and he also obviously tolerated satan for six thousand years .their is no example of shunning their either .. jesus was tempted by satan for fourty days { why was he with him for fourty days anyway ?

  Jesus was tempted by Satan for fourty days { why was he with him for fourty days anyway ? } as well as going up in a mountain with Satan willingly so Satan could tempt him again , what was wrong with this person ? Was he a glutton for punishment ?

  But despite all of the foregoing and Jesus in all that time not shunning Satan it took him another two thousand years to oust Satan from heaven {so for six thousand years Jehovah and Jesus tolerated Satan coming and going in the heavenly realm } and where did he oust him to ? Earth , thanks Jesus that was a real loving thing to do ,you could have put him anywhere in the Universe on any uninhabited planet , but no you chose to put him down here on earth to mess with us yet again.

  That he was already doing so for the past six thousand years anyway ? Go figure ?

  so i wont get into why i asked my jw wife to leave... theres another thread for that lol... but more out of pure curiosity i asked her just now... "in order to save this marriage would you leave the jws?

  ", it was a snap call no, like not even a second to pause and think about it, which kinda took me back a bit, followed by a angry "why would you ask me that now?

  " (shes going out witnessing with my kids and her friends).

  I`m curious about how old your kids are and how you feel about them going out witnessing ,do they want to go ? or are they just doing what mum says .?

  And how much influence do you have in their religious training ?

  Do you have any say in how much time they spend at the KH ?

  Speaking from my point of view I would be restricting how much time they are being brainwashed by this cult as it`s going to be very detrimental to their growing up and coping with life in the real world .

  Do you really want your children to be brought up in this cult religion? without giving them an alternative ?

  this is what they have in the new world translation index 6a to support their version of john 1:1. they are not honest even to their own people.

  they list the year of the bible, rendering, and source.

  but there's only two sources that actually lend any type of support to their argument.

  it`s been more than two thousand years since the last book of the Bible was written and their have been countless discussions /debates /arguments about what GOD meant here ,there ,and everywhere about this,that and the other and in the two thousand years since we haven`t heard a peep out of GOD.?

  To set the matter straight .!

  To me that proves such a being does not exist and if he in fact does exist ? then he`s a complete arse-hole for messing with peoples minds the way he has.

  Without god what is the basis of morality?

  i'm sure most here who've questioned or left behind their belief in god have encountered this question - without god, what basis can there be for morality?

  my exwife, when i admitted that i was an atheist, once asked me "if you don't believe in god, what's to stop you from going out and raping and murdering?

  " previously, whenever i got this objection, i would tend to turn it around on the other person with a response along the lines of "if fear of god is the only thing that stops you from murdering, that makes me rather nervous to be around you.

  Is God Jehovah/Yahweh ?Jesus for some , of the christian bible moral ?

  I don`t think so

  He lusts after blood, think of all of the animal sacrifices made to him in the O.T. and his his creations .?

  Millions of animals not to mention the birds were slaughtered during those first four Centuries before Jesus Christ. because of his lust for blood.

  He condoned genocide by the Israelites of one country after another slaughtering man woman and child in many cases and for the victors the Jews to take virgins as spoils for war.

  { And what do you think the victors are going to do with the virgins ? }

  And have you ever thought about how the virgins would feel about what the victors are going to do to them ?

  How would you feel about being raped and forced into marriage by your conquerors ? Do you think that`s moral ?

  How about slaughtering all of humanity in the flood of Noah`s day as well as all of the animals on earth simply because they didn`t listen to Noah ? an imperfect human being ? Why would anybody listen to him ?

  And why kill off all the animals in the process and apparently none of the marine life suffered with the deluge .

  Wasn`t that discrimination ?

  Of course Jehovah God couldn`t speak to humans as that was beneath him to do so but it would have been the more moral thing to do wouldn`t it ?

  Is the N.T. any better ? I don`t think so . Jesus said he came to put a sword against families /divide them.

  He also has no problem with the prospect of seeing Millions of people destroyed at the Great Tribulation and Armageddon of which he is to be principal combatant.

  And even after the Thousand years of Christs rule millions of people are to be destroyed again because they number the sands of the sea which no man can number ? A period of "Paradise" most J.W.`s look forward to .

  I`ve got news for them .

  What morality does this God stand for ?

  A concise list for my therapist...any suggestions?

  been a lurker here for a long time.

  i am just now starting to deal with the issues from my witness upbringing.

  it's been about 10 years since i was df'd.. just recently i started to see a therapist and i am trying to get across the depth of the effects of growing up a witness.

  Maybe you should look for another therapist who deals with and understands Cults and how to help those leaving them..

  It shouldn`t be up to you to educate your therapist that JW`s are a Cult and then for her to help you ?

  Dump her and look for one who knows where you are coming from .

  Welcome to the board Straw man ,but you are behind the 8 ball if you have to educate your therapist that JW`s are a cult religion , you need to see someone more mature and more experienced for you to get the help you are looking for.

  Clarification on Blood in Bulgaria

  it's been established that the wt convinced the bulgarian government that there are "no sanctions" on jws who accept blood transfusions, in order to obtain legal recognition by that government.

  my question is this:.

  does the wt actually now allow bulgarian jws to accept blood transfusions without consequence?.

  i'm so sorry if this has already been posted but i think its too important and interesting to miss.. reclaimed voices chairman raymond hintjies responds to jw.orgs dutch lawyer's statement that the dutch govt.

  investigating watchtower's 300 incidents of csa would be akin to"shooting a mosquito with a water cannon" .

  i particularly like raymond's sensitive message to concerned jw parents, at around 3 minutes or so, .

  I watched this video and thought the content was very good however a slight criticism making sure that JW,isms are clearly spelled out for non J.W`s to understand in other words speak in a language that the general public understand because that is who you want to reach and not just J.W.`s.

  Also it would come across as more professional if he had on at least a casual or business shirt and not a T-shirt.

  presentation means a lot guys , really and to dress sloppy takes away from the message .

  Just my 2 cents worth .

  Have Artifical Intelligence Run A Site That Deprograms Jehovah's Witnesses

  with all this talk about ai taking over jobs and finding cures by feeding it proper input data and a whole host of other tasks why not have scientist put up a site run by artificial intelligence to deprogram people from cults and offer them counseling as what to do after leaving the mind control cult.. i know this might be a very touchy place to put ai i think it would offer scientist working with ai to test its capabilities and do a public service at the same time.. perhaps offer it honestly to the public who are having doubts about a specific organization that is unduly controlling their lives.. and great if that would pass a turing test:.

  When Alan Turing first proposed this test was way back in 1950 some 68 years ago and today we are nowhere near coming up with anything remotely close to what he was proposing back then .

  So I think your saying something along these lines could be possible within ten years is extremely unlikely as to be near impossible.

  Have you considered all the negatives about such a test ?

  Personally I think if anything like this ever happened we would be just creating a real life BORG that would make Star Treks Borg look like a pussy.
