l recently went to watch green book , which l thought was excellent , it had everything , it took me though the whole range of emotions , from anger to joy , laughing then wanting to cry .

the quiet dignity of dr shirley mixed with volatile nature of tony lipp and seeing their emerging friendship was wonderful .

what really shook me was that these attitudes existed in my lifetime , not that long ago .

Did you know most jehovah witnesses don’t even follow their own rules?

(before you read anything i was born into this religion and am just counting down the days until i can leave) so i made one other post before because i signed up thinking that this was just a one time venting thing for me and everyone that replied on my last post was super helpful and i thank you if you’re reading this one but shit.

i’ve never released this much emotion especially to strangers, not even with my own parents and with you guys i feel like i can say anything about how i feel and it’s all good because you all feel the same as i do.

but anyway i just got into some shit with my mom and step dad.

Venus Williams is a high profile tennis player who claims to be a Jehovah`s witness as i think is her sister Venus Williams ,and i havent heard the JW religion/GB ever saying anything different ?

In Australia ,professional footballer in the AFL , bearded Alec Rance claims to be a Jehovah`s Witness and again i havent heard the JW religion/Gb saying anything different .

Note: Neither of them to my knowledge have ever been baptized so that could be there get out of jail card.

Note : You don`t get to these standards of optimization in your sporting field unless you put in the hard yards of dedication and commitment and years and years of sweat and tears.

That is not something the Jehovah`s Witness religion want`s you to spend your time effort and money on.

Aussies who enjoy AFL / Sports & JW Involvement. It also happen elsewhere ? Double standards ?

it is well documented that the jw religion frowns on there members engaging in competitive sports to the extent they discourage school age children in the organization from being a part of competitive sports..gal.5:26. i have commented before on an afl payer in victoria who claims he is a jw who threatened to leave his club and pursue his religious convictions a year or two ago ,of course he didn`t and probably got an increase in his pay/salary.

good on him that`s business,and his business.. i now notice that he is sporting a well kept grown beard another thing that his professed religion frowns upon .i wonder if he still professes to be a jw or if he has left the religion.?.

to my knowledge he was never baptized even though he is in his mid twenties and married to a jw.sister.. jehovah`s witnesses encourage young teens to be baptized and suggest that a jw sister should not look to being yoked with a brother unless he is baptized certainly by the time he is twenty .. if alec rance still professes to be a jehovah`s witness and if he is not baptized while in his mid twenties and sporting a beard, he is not considered a jehovah`s witness by his fellow congregants until he gets baptized and gets rid of his beard.. if the above is correct does his claim to be a jehovah`s witness publicly warrant a disclaimer by the religion he professors because he doesn`t abide by the governing body /faithful & discreet slave class directives of his religion ?.

In Jehovah’s Witness congregations, victims, parents, or anyone else, have always been free to report allegations of child sexual abuse to the police. The troubling reality is that many chose not to do it.

And neither did the Elders who were made aware of these crimes against children and never reported it to the appropriate authorities or the police and chose to handle it in-house in case it brought reproach upon the Jehovah`s Witness religion.

The silence had nothing to do with protecting Jehovah`s name it was all about protecting the religion.
