  Will I Die?

  my doctor recently told me that my blood pressure is normal, but at the higher end of normal.

  i should lower my cholesterol level via diet and exercise.

  fine.. recently i applied for a job that allows me to further my education during the week but will still provide for my family.

  A few years ago my husband had to have a physical for a truck driving job. Every time he went in to the doctor for the blood pressure check it would be real high. When he would check it at home it would be normal. Finally, I had a talk with the doctor about it and what we did was have the nurse right there when my husband walked in the office and took his blood pressure reading the instant he sat down. It was normal. The longer he sat there, the higher it went. It is called "white coat syndrome". My mother-in-law does the same thing. It is harmless. Worrying about it makes the readings high also.

  "Don't you realize I can kill you with a word?" asked Satan. "Don't doubt it for a minute," returned the old man, in an even tone. "Did you know that I could cause you profound, horrifying, AGONY for all eternity?"
  "Yep," was the man's calm reply. "And you're still not afraid?" asked Satan. "Nope," said the old man.
  More than a little perturbed, Satan shouted, WELL, WHY AREN'T YOU AFRAID OF ME?"
  The old man calmly replied, "Been married to your sister for 48 years."

A sample of your abilities that you will be needing to use in the future. You are gifted and you are finding out how true that is. And you know what I mean.

  I have a great interest in dreams. This is what I have noticed in my own studies of dreams. We do a lot of what I call 'recreational dreaming". That is the stuff where things get odd and you know it is not realistic. Then there are prophetic dreams. They tend to be quite realistic. There is also astral travel. That will appear like a dream only there is nothing strange going on. It is like it is real. Like viewing a movie. Astral travel can often be verified like you have done. It sounds like your life has some spirit direction going on and you are being lead in a particular direction. Pay attention to small things. There is more than just dreams happening.

  Too much bad language, sex & pics

  please can everyone think twice before they make posts containing bad language (even if not directed at individuals), graphic sex talk and nude or semi-nude pictures (especially if explicit).

  this is not what the forum is here for.

  if you want to post stuff like that then there are lots of places on the internet for it and, more importantly, if people want to see and read stuff like that then they are quite capable of going to these places themselves.. i know everyone likes to 'let their hair down' now and again, me included, and i like pictures of sexy women as much as anyone .

  I agree with Lady Lee.
  I posted something along that line last year when I was new and I found the overabundance of sex talk and bad language a turn off and I considered not staying around. I was jumped on by others who said that now that they are out of the borg they have a right to express themselves anyway they want and I was being a prude. Well, I stayed around, but I did not send anyone else here. I didn't want them to think that I liked that sort of thing.
  Like Simon said, there are plenty of other sites for that sort of thing. Why does it have to be flaunted here when that is not the purpose of this board?

  Circuit Overseers and Corruption

  as an ex presiding overseer and public affairs spokesperson who is now disfellowshipped!!!

  i am new to this site and have read with keen interest the many and varied topics that have been posted.

  during my 9 years of presiding i encountered certain corrupt c/os for example the friends would treat them like little demy gods, hanging onto their every word, they would, on their visit influence the brothers to part with cash for privledges.

  have you ever known a COs mother? We had one in our congregation and we never stopped hearing about "My son the Circuit Overseer".
  Whenever she met new JWs she brought it up.

  Then there was the Co's wife who knew every beautician in the circuit. She carried her own scissors with her at all times and when she would see one of us at an assembly, she would drag us off to some corner and get her free haircut.

  In my thirty years on the Borg, there was only one CO who I really liked.

  We had one who was Chinese. I won't say his name, but the Awake did an article on him and his whole family. He was really a jerk.(I don't mean he was a jerk because he was Chinese. I just gave that information as a reference for anyone else who knew him)

  So now I know why our PO gave so many talks at the assemblies. Yep, it explains a lot of things.

  Let my clarify something here. I never said I was angry AT THEM. I was angry about what we were talking about. I never yelled at them or anything. I was angry that they had a letter read to them and never told why. I was angry that they were never told by their elders that there is a molestation issue, that there is a UN issue. I told them that they only know what the Society wants them to know.
  I do not think I would have been so angry if they had known what I was talking about. I was angry that they are sent out door to door without a clue about what they are going to face when the elders know full well what it is all about.
  I never expected to feel that kind of anger. It took me totally by surprise.
  I do not think they thought I was angry at them. They would not have stayed as long as they did and ask questions about what I was referring to if they did. I think they were aware that it was the issues I was angry about and the fact that they had been kept in the dark about it all.

  Two Jws, man and wife, were just at my door. She started presenting the Watchtower and I just saw red! I can't believe the anger that welled up in me. I said something to the affect that how could they think people would want the Watchtower after seeing Dateline. She says "What are you talking about?" They really had no clue! I told them all about it and brought up the UN thing and they had no idea about that either. I told them that it is really something that their orgainzation has kept them in the dark like that. She said something about where did I "read this stuff" and I told her that I knew victims personally who were molested by a visiting Bethelite. He brought up the crap about the Bible saying two witnesses but that the elders encourage the victims to go to the police. I pointed out to them that on Dateline the molester had 17 charges against him and is in prison but is still in good standing in the congregation and the congregation stood behind him. I was so angry I could hardly talk. I did not know the depth of my feelings until then.
  Then like a good little JW he says " Well we can see you have stong feelings about this so we will be on our way. You have a good day now."
  She had said something about did I ever sit down and talk to a witness who wasn't one having complaints and I told her that I was a JW for 30 years so I knew all about their teachings. She says" Oh. are you DF'd then? I told her no I was not and I was not DA'd either, I was just DISGUSTED!
  They turned and walked away and I went to my office and got the copy of the UN letter and the transcript from Dateline and went out the door after them and they were gone. They must have had other such experiences on our street and got out of here fast.

  Now i will keep my 'literature" right at the front door ready for them. They come here often. I bet next time will be the last time.

  Disfellowshipping Child Abusers

  i have a question on the issue of child abusers within the organization.. i know that it should be reported to the authorities as it is a crime against human laws, but it is also a sin against jehovah so it must handled theocratically also.. my question is: should a child abuser be disfellowshipped from the christian congregation?

  When you first posted, you were very defensive of the organization and you had your blinders on tight. Now I see you are a Dad and you are asking questions. Because you love your kids and care about other children, you want to know the truth about this molestation issue. The more you find out, the more you will want to know and before you know it, the blinders are off.Then you will wonder how you ever could have been so blind. Been there, done that.
