Make you wonder what did the GB (and Helpers) are trying to shut down?
a post from another exjw site, shows how throughout the years, in a regular, systematic fashion, the watchtower has influence thoroughly; an ideological point of view, in the minds of it’s members by using bible scriptures and examples, to get the members to do the unthinkable, even if it clashes with modern ethics.
february 2016 watchtower, paragraph 3 of the article titled .
"learn from jehovah’s loyal servants".

so it’s the current new light!.
what are the new qualifications to be an “elder-aka older man...and circuit overseer?.
Just noticed in 3 occasions they mentioned the early 20's as appropriate age for elders. The footnote is clever because it basically told the elders "appoint elders by their _early_ 20's so in their _late_ 20's we can use some as COs". It's insane.
Also, what's the deal with Patrick?
"[...] says Patrick. “I used to get discouraged when I saw other brothers receiving privileges of service that I wanted. But the elder’s counsel helped me[...]” As a result, Patrick was appointed as an elder when he was in his early 20’s."
So Patrick... got upset before his early 20's, fixed his attitude and then became an elder? How brat do you have to be, to be upset in your early 20 to feel you were overlooked for the elder position?

Didn't they do the same after the fallback of 1975? Appoint elders early when old timers realised the gig was up?
Then when the numbers stabilized, they slowly raised the age again.

these new appointments are troubling, to say the least, especially considering the factors surrounding their selection.
these appointments raise key concerns about leadership, experience, and what is happening behind the scenes at the organization's headquarters.
I'm confused by this. There is NO process. They pick whoever they think fits best and that's it.
Remember, there should be no expectation of promotion in Bethel. If you have, you also have an "attitude" problem, which would disqualify you. There is no seniority that will further you in the queue to be in those GB wednesday meetings. There's no amount of years or service or skills that gets you there.
So no, I don't think this shows any problems or will cause any problems in the leadership. Some might get disappointed and that's all.
amazing new light in the latest morning worship by gary breaux.
the gb "never lie or deceive us.
we can have absolute trust in the governing body".. he then makes a very helpful point, so as to avoid being deceived and avoid lies.
"It's not a lie if you believe in it".
“a circuit overseer started out by saying that on this last round of the circuit, the one thing he noticed the most...is that everyone is physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually drained...and that cuts across all barriers and demographics within the truth.
he then said that the one common thread that ran among nearly everyone was this: we feel guilty for feeling bad.
he said because we are told to endure with joy, our minds can cause us to feel enormous guilt over feeling this way...and then, my dear brothers and sisters...he proceeded to blow our collective minds.. he asked us to turn to daniel 8:27….
This was actually quite clever. He accepted the obvious and offered an explanation. HQ might wait and copy his fresh approach.
