  League of Nations as the disgusting thing that causes desolation

  so, the organization says the “disgusting thing that causes desolation” in daniel 11:31 is the united nations being set up in 1945, but in daniel 12:11 when they interpret the 1,290 days they say it’s the league of nations in 1919. please could someone play devils advocate and tell why this could be anything but inconsistent?

  It is not 'inconsistent', it is very 'consistent' in that both of those teachings are false. False teachings/lies are what the WTS/GB are good at being 'consistent' about.
  

  It may prove to be true that the UN is the 'disgusting thing' (KOTN/8th king), but it was not so upon being set up in 1945. The 8th king comes about at some point during WW3.

  The Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ is used interchangeably here. Does it concern you that Gods Word says you are not a Christian if you don’t allow the Spirit of Christ to reside in you?

  It could mean just what is says: God was manifest in the flesh.

  It shows here the it was the 'son of God' who was manifest is the flesh.
  

  [ 8 The one who practices sin originates with the Devil, because the Devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, to break up the works of the Devil.]
  

  [14 So the Word became flesh and resided among us, and we had a view of his glory, a glory such as belongs to an only-begotten son from a father; and he was full of divine favor and truth.]

  'God' there is referring to Jehovah. 'Son' there is referring to Jesus. Jesus (the word) is the one who was made manifest in the flesh.

  Even if 1 Timothy 3:16 said "god' and not 'he', that would not mean that 'god' there is referring to Jehovah God. 1 John 3:8 and John 1:14 makes clear that it is Jesus (the word) the 'son of God' is who was made manifest in the flesh.

  The reason it could have said 'god' even though referring to Jesus is because Jesus is also said to be a 'god'. Again though, that does not make him Jehovah God, just like Satan is said to be a 'god' and yet you do not claim he is Jehovah God.

  the short answer is yes.. the longer answer is a qualified yes, with some caveats.

  the short answer is yes because jehovah’s witnesses teach that jesus is michael the archangel, their leader, eldest and most powerful, and have taught this since the very beginning of the religion.

  Overlapping Generation

  the september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.

  his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .

  no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

  As I said on another thread, Jehovah God is a spirit being. His first creation was another spirit being. After that first spirit being was created, many more spirit beings were created. All of those spirit beings that Jehovah created are his spirit sons, Jesus being the first one of those spirit sons.

  Now the question, is Jesus an angel? What is an angel?

  Both the Hebrew mal·ʼakhʹ and the Greek agʹge·los literally mean “messenger.” - One bearing a message, either oral or written.

  minister - a person or thing used to achieve or convey something; attend to the needs of someone.

  [ 4 He (Jehovah) makes his angels spirits, His ministers a consuming fire.]

  i was given the link to a bit of information regarding on old poster/moderator of this forum.

  i was not sure of the validity of the information so have been trying to find out if it is true.. earlier today craig's estranged wife, kate, (bikerchic) confirmed that craig died at his home on aug 10, 2011.. i am sure that many people here remember craig's time here and how he went out of his way to offer support to posters, even calling them, to give whatever help he could as they adjusted to their post-jw lives.. i know many people here will grieve his loss.. --------------.
