Do JW's really 'trust in Jehovah'????
by DannyBear injw's claim to trust their god jehovah implicitly.
they fervently preach, teach, publish unending articles about god's protection, even baptising converts who have sworn an oath to jehovah and his "representitive organization" .
they believe unreservedly that god takes a, moment by moment, active role in watching out, taking palpable action on behalf of jw welfare.

If they really did completely "trust in Jah" then whey would they need to provide their own 'security' personnel at conventins and such.
It is the same as the pope in his bulletproof popemobile, not much faith in God eh? -

Is the Devil really that clever?
by TheHighPriest inpeople usually turn to god in times of distress and tend to forget about god when things are going a bit better, right?
so if the devil really wanted to succeed in turning people away from god all he would have to do is make life more comfortable for all of us.
i mean lets face it if everyone was loaded with money had access to every convenience, if health was not an issue we all had to confront would we look to god for salvation then?

Bible Error: Jesus Cures the Leper
by JosephAlward inthe author of mark thinks that jesus cured the leper after he cured simon peters mother-in-law, but the author of matthew says just the opposite: he thinks that jesus cured the leper before he cured the mother-in-law.
they both cannot be right, so the bible is in error.
here is the evidence:.

Who cares about the damned leper? This is a minute detail and really a waste of time to argue about. However....the point that only certain men have the ability to understand the Bible is utterly absurd. Can someone seriously claim that the Bible is supposed to be Gods word to man but only as interpreted by certain men? How in the hell are men supposed to know which other men are understanding the Bible correctly? Are you suggesting that we are to have faith in Gods word but first we must have faith in some man to tell us exactly what it means? How are we to know which men to have faith in? Well...it is in the Bible you say? But, I can't understand the Bible because I don't have someone to tell me what it means. So now I have to find a man to tell me which man I can find to tell me what the Bible says. So maybe I am just 'fleshy', whatever that is supposed to mean, and I am predestined to not understand. If the Bible is a serious effort by the Almighty to talk to us, it doesn't appear to be a very effective means of communication.

where can one find faith?
by conflicted inin an earlier post larsguy said the bible wasn't written for the layperson, but only for serious scholars and followers of christ.. .
...you imagine the bible is supposed to be a nice easy book without complexities to confound people, when in fact, if you actually read the bible you'd know that is precisely the case.. the bible is meant for christ and his followers specifically and not for outsiders!.
didn't you read in scripture when the disciples asked jesus why he spoke in parables that he told them that these secrets were for them and so that the outsiders, looking in vain, would not understand?.

Faith? You have faith every day my friend. You have faith that when you drive through a green traffic light no one will drive through the red light and smash you. You have faith that when you turn on the faucet and drink the water that it will not kill you. You have faith that the sun will rise in the morning and set at night.
If you are speaking of faith in God then that is another story. We have been left in the dark. The Bible as a whole does not make sense. The argument that it is not supposed to make sense is ridiculous. You are correct in your reasoning, if only followers of Christ can understand the Bible we are really presented with a catch 22.
Who does the Bible provide as examples of faith? Moses? Paul? David? They had a burning bush, vision near Damascus, Prophets, miricles. Jesus? He KNEW he was the son of God. The big voice from the sky told him. They didn't have faith, they had PROOF. At least according to the book. What do we get? Second hand, thousand years old stories.
I dont know where we can find religious faith. We can only discover where we CAN'T find faith and then begin to eliminate possibilities.

Funerals
by Xena ini haven't been to a "worldly" funeral...well ever that i can remember.
all the funerals i have been to have been jw ones where they use it as another opportunity to preach to everyone in sight.
they usually make a token mention of the dead loved one and then begin with the resurrection and earthly paradise and how you have to be a jw to get there.. today i went to my aunts funeral.

My condolences regarding your aunt. I understand your point regarding JW funerals. My aunt burned herself to death. As horrible as that situtation was, they STILL used most of the service to preach at her funeral.

Bible Error: How Did Judas Die?
by JosephAlward inmatthew says that judas hanged himself, while the writer in acts says that he fell and his guts spilled out.
both of these accounts cannot be true.
either one is, or neither is, and this means that the bible is not error-free.

You can still turn off all of the lights and hide in the basement untill they all go away.Thats what we did when I was growing up.
If you insist on playing along then in answer to your questions:
1-Open the door
2a-Dont act scared unless they are scary-looking. Nobody is supposed to scared of spiderman or a princess, only ghosts and monsters and such.
2b-You can have lots of fun sometimes scaring the little ones especially if you can make them cry. The older kids will just look at you like you are an idiot.
3-The kids will take home more damn candy than they can eat in a month so it doesnt matter how much you give.
4-Only if you want a Federal investigation.
