  all across america there are areas where people are trying to enforce christian law!

  outsiders are strictly forbidden from entering and they have private security and guards to keep people out.

  This one in Southern California has Mormon razor wire

  That's not a new thing in America.

  I'm with Mr. Roboto, to some degree. I can't care less about what others decide to do with their religion, up until the point where my taxes start paying for it.

  i'd like to see them try and capitalise on ramadan by changing that religious festival's name in a similar way.

  businessmen first, charlatans second - nothing more, nothing less.

  i can't get my around such institutions being allowed to keep their finances secret.

  That's actually a step up from how things used to be, though I agree. Churches use their god as an excuse to get away with pretty much everything they want. Why do you think religion has become so unpopular? They blame it on "the last days" and "people being sinners" and "being close to the end" but the truth is that the vast majority of people have come to see churches and organized religion for what they really are.

  i was just thinking at how quickly the process was from pimi - pimo - pomo.

  i must of spent about 10 years trudging along in the organization very unhappily.

  but from the initial stages of learning ttatt to physically walking out the door the process took about 18 months.

  Between PIMI and PIMO is a blur, as I can't pinpoint exactly when (if) that happened. I have evidence of not caring about the Jehovah crap from as far as being just a child. From officially PIMO to POMO, I'd say that my process was about 2 years.

  aside from obvious things that most people agree on, like theft being wrong and the importance of family, i can't think of a single thing i agree with the jws on, nothing that's specific to their religion anyway.

  They believe in being peaceful. I'm not necessary against/anti war, but I prefer that to be the last resort. I agree in their concept of thriving for peace, though they use the Bible to support that concept (go figure).

  Also, I agree that abstinence from sexual practices is a good thing and protect people from certain things, but unlike them, I also believe that abstinence is only one of the different ways in being responsible with ones body, and with the decisions you make.

  So in essence I do agree with them in certain things at a conceptual level. After that, we divert quite a lot.
