i know we were taught to study all the wts stuff.
prepare for each meeting, prepare for service, (gotta know the articles) etc.
i mean with all the personal study to do, how could anyone have time for newspapers, novels etc.

I would look at the questions and try to highlight the answers. I HATED TO STUDY THOSE WT ARTICLES. BORING and time consuming. I came to the conclusion the reason they had us answer at meetings was to keep tabs on who was being brainwashed and obedient. Just another form of control. Uggggggggggggggggggggly

i have only just registered at this forum and i would like to know if there are any ex jw's that live in or close to canberra, australia.. i have been shunned by all family and friends because i left the organisation (not disfellowshipped at this stage but won't be long) and i finding it hard to cope with.
i am sorry to be down but i miss all my family and friends and would love to make new friends that know what i am going through.
my boyfriend is very understanding but gets frustrated as he doesn't know why my family are doing this to me.. this sounds like a whingy post but i promise you, i am not normally like this.

i have been smoking off and on for over a year,,,,,,,never smoked before this year in my life.. it all started just for the hell of it.
then as my hub and i started going out dancing and hitting the town, cig smoke was everywhere.
i would comehome with it in my hair and all over my clothes.

I love reading your threads and posts. I used to smoke i did for 16 years that's the only good thing that came out of my being in the org quitting cigs.
I always hated the smell even when i did smoke.

It's true what they say there's nothing worse than an ex smoker I'm terrible very intolerant the smell
makes me feel sick. I smoked carlton they were very light. I also hated the smell of ash trays. I wasn't a very happy smoker. Just addicted like every one else that smokes. I am very happy i quit.
I went to the cape for a week was out in the middle of nowhere i did it then with the help of Nicorrete
chewing gum. It helped with the cravings.

something i've always wanted to do is take some trip overseas to another country.
england has always been my first choice.. now i'm in a position to actually take a vacation in england.
i looked at some prices on expedia.com for airline/hotel combos for a week's trip to england and what i found made me very hopeful about going.. i tentatively "planned" the trip on the website for around the last part of february or the first part of march since that would be in the "slow" season at work and they could spare me.
i'm also known as CherylWheryl i changed my username. I just wanted to say if you should get to the north of England go and visit the Lake district. It is very beautiful. Very scenic.
