The fact that you were creeped out that long really gives me the creeps.

even though i've been da'd since 1989 the truth is that i always considered it to still be the truth up until a couple of years ago when i started researching more through sites like this.
i never got around to getting my hands on that book though, and now can't wait until it arrives.

leave me alooone.....PLEASE!!!!
by Angst ini was born and raised a witness.
baptized at 14. pioneered after high school and was accepted to bethel when i was 19. got booted from bethel on my 21st b-day because someone exposed me for underage drinking prior to my 21st b-day.
after i left bethel, nothing was ever the same, and my eyes began to be opened and i started seeing more clearly.

My suggestion to get them off is to pick one topic that contradicts witness teaching, and not let it go. Pick blood, man's length of time on earth, Jerusalem's destruction, whatever. Just tell them you'll never agree on this one point, so what is the purpose in discussing anything else? It drives them crazy. They want to go on to talk about love amongst the brothers, new world, whatever, but you keep saying, "Yeah, but I would get a blood transfusion first chance I get."

When they talk about leaving...
by detective ini was thinking back to my conversation with my friend and he said several times that he was torn and thought about leaving the organization.
he didn't address anything specifically and does not seem at all able to criticize the group in any fashion whatsoever so i'm thinking that it's an emotional response and not an intellectual one.. .
i think it's pretty telling that he can't bear to speak critically about the group.

WT 4-01-02 article
by DB inin the april 1, 2002 issue of the watchtower, an article appears entitled "keep on serving jehovah with a steadfast heart".
paragraph 14 of this article states: "if jehovah's organization knowingly endorsed false teachings, advice to read the bible would never be given to jehovah's witnesses and those to whom they preach.".
i am withholding comment on this statement, because i'd like to hear from any who would like to post a response.

I think the statement is exactly correct. The do knowingly teach false teachings, and they do not encourage individual, independent bible study.

I f only they had been Jws
by badboy inif only hitler the product of an incestious marriage(father/mother were uncle/niece)had become a jw,there would have been no ww11 and no palestian crisis!.
if stalin who once had a son by a underage liasison(sp)had become a jw, the soviet union would had taken a different course.. who else is there?.
i got this idea of this post from a jiffy advert i saw in a programme some time ago

The JW life
by TweetieBird inmy mother-in-law, who has several children, leads a miserable existence because of being a witness.
she stays in constant turmoil because usually at any given time one or more of her children is in a disfellowshipped state.
none are spiritual giants, however all believe that the witnesses have the truth except one, my spouse.

Being the fixer is all about power to: "See I told you so, what would you do without me." In this case, seems the spirituality and the cash flow are both tools to gain power. Later . . .

I am unlike other men
by joelbear ini'm not talking about the homo thing here.. i am very different.
i learn differently.
i am odd, very eccentric sense of humor.. i have decided that instead of trying to get one doctorate degree that i am going to try and get several bachelors degrees in different areas of interest.. i like too many things to concentrate on one subject.. i have worked at the same type of job for the last 20 years and have never been happy.

"It was at that moment I knew I was living in a world of gears and cogs. I thought could never wake up because their ignorance was blinding them from the truth."
Wow, you're really smart to see that Truth where all others fail.

No windows on Kingdom Halls?
by just_a_girl ini just read a post on another site i belong to (non-jw related) where a person asked if anyone knew why jws do not have windows on their kingdom halls.
a few other people responded saying that they had noticed the same thing, that they thought it was b/c the jws believe that windows are just an adornment, hence a distraction?.
in my 20+ years of being a jw and attending quick builds, i never noticed this ... it never even dawned on me ... and now that i try to think back, i can't remember there being any windows at the khs i attended?.

They don't want to have to board up all of those windows on the great day of judgement. They see themselves all huddled together in there, like it's their ark, while the rest of us pound on the doors saying we are sorry, but it's too late.
