  Bethel layoff question

  hi,.

  with the layoffs of bethelites and special pioneers, does anyone know if they get some sort of "redundancy" payout?

  It will depend on the conditions of tenure of the Bethalites within a particular country - as it pertains to that nations Labour Laws.

  So if JW had to "employ" the Bethalites then they would more than likely be bound to specific legislation related to a "Retrenchment process" *- which should include a pay-out, and also the Bethalites should have been part of an Unemployment Insurance Fund which will allow you to draw a payment from the labour office for a certain very short period.

  * Generally this 'process" [yes its a process] cant take place overnight or even in a very short period of time. Its cannot be a unilateral process either and extensive negotiation has to take place involving all parties concerned.

  I would be interested to know the process that these Bethalites faced in various parts of the world. I feel that I stand to be shocked !

  since the liberal government has been elected in canada, it seems that people are looking to the future with a little more optimism and hope.

  it is only human nature that with change, we would think that the change would be for the better.

  the courts have ruled, in canada, that it is unconstitutional to deny the homeless the right to sleep in parks.

  at the latest co visit something very strange happened.

  during the meeting with the elders and servants he passed out a copy of a hypothetical publisher card and asked us what we could learn from it.

  upon receiving it i saw that the average hours were pretty good, it had return visits and quite a few bible studies.

  So the "lay-it-on- heavy approach is making another orbit -

  You may recall how we used to have our own cards handed out to us in the CO-Elders meeting and it would be scrutinised before all present. And you would sit there and whip yourself with lashes of guilt !

  Of course in most cases the sisters hours and that of some in the congo. outperformed the elders stats. So unless he was going to dissolve the entire body there was blow-all he could do except to make you feel "sh--t"/

  What was never ascertained about your performance as an Elder / human was any acts of loving kindness and fine works that you were performing like lifting folk to meetings and sitting with the grieving and dying and the like !

  hello, i am sam(samuel).

  i am 18 and i live in romania.

  my english is not that good and i find it hard to express myself even in my language xd.. i'm not an open person and i would've probaly never talked so open of my life but this "event" had so much impact on my life and it damaged me so deeply that i do now write this.. i came to this site to help myself fight the problem that destroyed my life for the past 2 years.

  In 2010 I descended into Deep Depression [30 months of hell] and I would strongly suspect that you are suffering from depression yourself - Its almost predictable within the JW.Org movement . But you will work through it and you will find helping "hands" in places like this - Many of us have been and are still there ourselves!

  Just keep searching and "working out your own salvation"

  Should I associate with this person?

  so there is a guy who wants me to associate with him.

  but there are some strange things about him, such as:.

  he hears "direction from unseen" forces.. he thinks the idea of slavery was ok.. he likes killing animals and splashing their blood around and making huge bonfires of carcasses smoke all day long.. he has one wife, or maybe two, but is ok with having lots of other sleeping partners as well.. he likes another person who slept with his own daughters.. he thinks women should be subservient and "keep their place".. he frowns on education.. he thinks killing in a war is ok if they deserve it...even babies should be killed.. he is often asking for money.. he thinks that pyramids foretell the future, and that only a few people can explain divine truths to him, except their explanations have changes many, many times...often contradicting other teachings.... etc..... get it?
