i had a conversation with an active witness from the usa lately.
and when talking about child upbringing he stated that some children need a spank sometimes.
of course i was upset because of that, and i didn't thought witnesses was that stupid.
Do you think it would be ok if you people when doing something wrong, maybe at work, got a slap in the face for that?
Slapping anyone in the face especially a child is and act of loosing control of ones self.
That is hardly equivalent to a spanking.
You might have some issues that may be worth exploring with a professional. Not meaning to offend you but trying to be sincere.

is there anyone out there who still listens to good old fashion punk rock.

as we were digesting the spiritual food at the bookstudy tonight [yes i actually had to see this for myself] the topic of watchtower.org and freeminds came up from the elder in charge of the study.he flagrantly discredited freeminds with verbal sarcasm and distain and condemned watchtower.org as apostate and totally demonized the website .during this he mentioned he was not abliged to answer any of the questions that may have been raised about the society and beliefs because he felt that jesus didn't always answer the pharisees with what they would have expected like something that would incriminate himself.then the term legal department was brought to the fore.i really couldn't believe this is their reaction to inquiring minds.

Lately much more then usual, but I'm on vacation.
I read everyday. But usually only post a few times a week.

Well, that is not exactly correct.
But they do believe that one should not put their FAITH in astrology. The reasoning behind it is due to "POSSIBLE"
Satanic influence as Satan is the ruler of the earth therefore does not put your faith in things of earthly influence. Not because they believe astrology in itself is satanic. Satan is not the "inventor" of astrology but it is suggested he is in the drivers seat at the present time.
my latest addition to my thread "armageddon - jw speculations" got me thinking.
i was talking about jw's, and how they will avoid telling people at the doors that they believe they will be the only ones to survive armageddon.. i know when i was a jw, there was certain things that i was embarrased to tell interested ones about, and prefered to avoid the issue, or prance around it, trying to make it sound less harsh, or make me look like a complete nut.
when i talk to my jw family now, i notice there are certain issues that they will try to deny about the organisation, constantly.
I hated asking for donations
That was the one thing that embarrassed me in fact, I never asked.
Answering questions about the doctrines never was a big deal to me.
Like anything else in my life. If Im doing something I believe in, or believed in, whatever it may be, I am never so embarrassed that I can't talk about it. If I am then it simply means to me ...it's time to go.
