this is my first time posting to this forum.

let me start by saying i was born and raised as a jehovah’s witness.

i’m thankful that i was raised this way, because i feel it protected me in some ways, especially with regard to moral issues.

This is not new, for me it started with this generation change in 1995, and reading Raymonds books and website.

Before us, there were many others making the same progress. Once there was xjw.org with many stories. Offline now.

Paradise

the ot of wing commander made me think about the following.. i was born in 1970, 4th generation jw.

in the 70's i got the indirect message of 1975, and in the early 80's we were promissed a paradise were we could life for ever!

this all combined with the 1914 doctrine.. it was all about show activity and works, that lead to a reward, the paradise earth.. i'm curious about the jw's of later years and the current "generation z".. we don't visit the hall, maybe once in a year.

The OT of Wing commander made me think about the following.

We don't visit the hall, maybe once in a year. In conversations with JW family we don't hear the word "paradise" anymore.

Has the reward changed?

It leads to my hypothese that different generations of JW can have different expetation.

Is that true?

it's incredible how this cover, and also this "series" of watchtower's is burned into my mind.

i was almost 5 years old when these were released.

I remember it well, was 13 years old.

The meetings were long, boring and full of doctrine. No room.for doubts.

The book you can life for is worth to mention. We were promissed a paradise.

What a scam is was, with hind sight.

Our family was not fanatic, there was discussion.

Then came the late 80's and early 90's with the Revelation book, the Daniel phantasy book and the 1995 generation change. The moment I became daubting

Any news on JWs in the Ukraine?

the war in the ukraine has been going on for 2+ years now, yet very little has been put forth by the org on how the witnesses are doing there.

especially of interest would be just how the org has implemented their relatively new 'alternative service is ok' policy in lieu of real military service in a place where warfare is actually occurring.

yet nothing is forthcoming from the gb on this matter, or any other issues, really.. does anyone know what's been going on the regarding the witnesses there?.

"Although Jehovah's Witnesses do not participate in military operations, they do what they can to help rebuild buildings after the bombings. For example, several construction groups are currently operating in the country to help repair residential buildings, public institutions, and Kingdom Halls. To date, 37 projects have been completed, and work is underway on 48 more. If a house is destroyed, a garage or shed is converted into a modest dwelling. Even those who have lost their homes to rocket attack participate in the reconstruction work. Such construction groups even help repair public buildings. For example, in the city of Mykolaiv, a group of Witnesses assisted an international humanitarian organization in repairing and organizing a warehouse for clothing and other aid."
