Know it’s not true but stay anyway
by Elena inhow many of the millions of jws know it’s not true but stay anyway?.
my guess is most jws know it’s not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they don’t want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.

This JW lite sounds like a crock to me. Because you are basically living a lie. What if you wanted to put up a Christmas tree, have a birthday party for your kids, or live with someone you aren’t married to? They wouldn’t let you slide. Certain things you could do, like vote, I don’t think they would find out unless you told them, but who wants to live like that, always looking over your shoulder.
i walked away 40 years ago, never disfellowshipped or disassociated, because I wanted to live on my terms, not theirs. They tried to come after me, but it didn’t work, because they couldn’t find me. I moved 30 miles away, and this was before cell phones.
If this works for you, fine. I couldn’t do it. 🤷♀️

Where is Tony?
by Athanasius inon february 22, 2023, anthony morris iii was officially removed from the governing body of jehovah's witnesses.
a few months later it was revealed that the watchtower bought him a house in lumberton, north carolina.. however, and correct me if i am wrong, since leaving the gb nobody has reported seeing tony attending jw meetings or participating in field service.
in fact nobody has reported seeing him anywhere, not even at a local liquor store.

Ozzie, if I remember correctly, there was a Reddit post about him. Someone who attends his congregation in Lumberton did an AMA. This person said he is a regular elder there, not really prominent, though. He is there, though. That much is confirmed. Happy Father’s Day!

Juneteenth being celebrated by JWs
by Anony Mous inso today i saw a group of jws i know, we were sitting down to eat at a public place and i guess they (mom and daughter) were performing at an event with their sports team… for juneteenth.. they (the entire team) happened to sit next to us for some fast food and i recognized them and said hi, hoping to make them uncomfortable.
they actually said hi and introduced themselves to my family, i’ve seen them before (they go to the same school as one of my kids) and they usually ignore me.
i know for a fact they and their family still goes, the family patriarch is an elder etc.

I don’t think it’s a religious holiday, but I will say that some witnesses will celebrate ANYTHING they are “allowed” to.🙄

The Four Horses of the Apocalypse - In Truth
by EisMe in1. now i saw when the lamb opened one of the seals; and i heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “come and see.” 2. and i looked, and behold, a white horse.
he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
6. and i heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “a quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” (rev.

A lot of bodies
by Elena ini have this memory of a gb member once saying that there would be a lot of bodies to be buried after armageddon.. does anyone else remember who said it?.
it was probably in the last decade or so.
ive been trying to find the video i’m sure it was on lloyd evens and all the other similar channels when it was said.. i can’t remember which gb member said it.

Agreed, greenhornet, I was told the same. My nightmares started when I realized that I was the only JW kid in my school. My nightmares were about Armageddon coming while I was in school. I was afraid to have to step over all those dead bodies, or maybe I would be killed, because Jehovah read my heart. My parents also scared me with being tortured during the GT, and how I needed to endure whatever was done to me, or die at Armageddon. Very harmful for children’s mental health. This is why I say they owe me 5 million dollars.

My daughter spent one semester of her senior year in Zambia. Graduated RN, BSN, magna cum laude. (Proud mom, sorry). While in Zambia, they worked in pairs, providing help in the hospital where needed. Pre natal care is mostly non existent, but women in labor often walked into the hospital to give birth. My daughter and her partner, who with the group of about 20 young women who also went to Zambia, were given an 8 hour course, called, Helping Babies Breathe.
Zambia does not have enough doctors to staff hospitals, most doctors there are Christian missionaries who work out in the field, and come to the hospital twice a week, to perform scheduled surgeries. Which leaves nurses to run the hospital. A woman gave birth there, with my daughter and her partner assisting the Zambian nurses. A baby was born not breathing, and the Zambian nurses lamented this, declaring that it was a shame the baby was not breathing. They assumed the baby would die. My daughter and her partner, armed with the course they had just finished, used the techniques they learned to save this baby, who went home with his mother, perfectly fine. Afterwards, the student nurses made step by step instructions on posters for the Zambian nurses, so if this happened in the future, they could follow these procedures to save more infants lives.
My point in this story is, partly, that hospitals in Africa are not like our modern hospitals, these are 3rd world countries, with sub par staff, and sub par equipment. I’m sure they lose more people than in our American, Australian, or European hospitals.
