  You May Now Embrace the Bride!

  just yesterday, a pimi jw that i've known for years told me that at the end of a wedding they recently attended in pennsylvania, usa, the "brother" that officiated the ceremony concluded by saying to the bride and groom, "you may now embrace the bride.

  no kissing.

  sir82, you know they don’t care about the children! They discuss seriously inappropriate sexual things in the meetings. Can’t wait til someone still attending says a 6 or 7 year old gives a talk on masturbation or oral sex. Lol

  well she went off to the big convention this morning.

  as she left i ventured a bare tiny 'dont give them money' 'they have millions.

  ' she spun back, (we are on pensions.).

  Jehovah's Witnesses Came to My Neighborhood

  for nearly two years i have not seen any jehovah's witnesses going door to door in my neighborhood.

  that was not the case when my wife and i first moved here (north central oregon).

  in fact, our neighborhood was visited at least once every 4 to 5 months - even in the coldest winter months.

  DATA DOG, I’m with you, I couldnt bear field service,it made me physically ill. My last few months, I think I spent one hour a month dropping old magazines at laundromats. I didn’t want to convert anyone to become a JW and be as miserable as me.

  What’s The Worst Thing You Have Heard About A JW?

  there was a guy that became an elder and he was a father of 8 children including 4 or 5 girls.

  he was a little bit on the self righteous side and would counsel people a lot, especially families about how they could be better witnesses.

  one day his wife dropped a bombshell!!!

  District convention to be held in assembly hall instead of stadium

  last night they announced that this summers district convention will be held at an assembly hall.. this is the first time i've seen this happen.

  there are a couple of congregations in the same hall here and they aren't going to the same ones.

  they are having multiple dates.. the hall they are going to use can only hold 1500 people max.. just wondering if maybe they just couldnt get anything bigger this year or if the falling numbers are playing a part in this decision.

  Why rent a stadium that holds 50 or 100,000 people, when only 10,000 will show up? Could be embarrassing for the borg. Just have concurrent ones at the circuit assemblies.

  Personal story of bethel, sexual abuse and child baptism

  born into a strong jw family in the early 80s.

  my father died when i was 4 and that left a huge emotional scar on my tender mind.

  with my mother, i went to live with family members and was sexually abused between 4 and 10. he was an ms but when elders later found out, all that happened was he got his privileges removed.

  Big Meat Eaters?

  i was wondering how many of us have switched to a vegetarian or vegan diet and why.

  i'm not doing it but have friends who do.

  Sorry, meat lover here. We do eat a lot of chicken, and salmon once a week. Today, I’m making round steak and pork chops, with mashed potatoes. Also, braised cabbage, and roasted carrots. We will eat for a few days on this.
