Yes, Moonmanchu, they don’t know that Jesus is not their mediator, until “apostates” tell them. Lol

Is there really a Bible rule against sex without marriage?
by Halcon inregarding the poster from jw headquarters, who claimed that the gb would eventually loosen the rules regarding sex.
the question is, is there really a bible rule explicitly prohibiting sex without marriage?
because this would be the only possible reason why loosening those rules would even come up in a discussion.

Peaceful Pete, I attended a bible study where it was suggested that Paul’s “thorn in the flesh” was actually homosexuality. 🤷♀️ This would have explained why he was never married, didn’t care much for women, etc.

Remember that they really control a Community
by EdLogan inthere's a lot going on, and a lot of saying.the interpretation of the scriptures, their internal doctrine and their policy change.. the 1914, 1919 and its consequences.. the birthdays and other holidays.. the beard, the tie, the slacks.. the "hi, nice to see you here".. but at the end of the day, what they're in control of, is a community.
a society of people.
and a corporation as well, that controls all this.. many of them don't even really mind about those changes.

This religion still expects too much from children, that has to stop. Kids NEED to fit in and be normal, for their own mental health. Birthdays, holidays, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem, higher education, extracurricular activities, all of it. That’s why I’m so f@#ked up, and why I say if there is a class action for ruined lives, they owe me 5 million dollars.

JW Expanded Volunteer Activities?
by doinmypart ini think the gb needs to expand publishers' volunteer activities beyond door knocking.. gb has shifted away from door-knocking to more varied forms of witnessing and no longer counting time for publishers.
my prediction is that the gb will start encouraging jws to participate in broader community volunteer efforts: clean-up drives, food banks, senior citizen support, and other non-proselytizing activities.
this move could help them gain goodwill with government agencies and the public.. expanding volunteer activities could significantly shift how jws are perceived by the wider community.

They could open the Kingdom Halls on Saturday morning as a community food bank. Have the JWs donate the food, count the time as FS (pioneers), and put a tract inside each food bag. This would count as a charity. And, wouldn’t cost the Borg anything.

Wow, Baalamsass, sounds like this couple are down and out, could be due to part time jobs and pioneering. Poor, deluded souls.

Slimboyfat, thank you for your very astute insights. Of course, they could change their teachings and just STOP BAPTIZING MINORS. Which would take care of the problem of disfellowshipping minors.

Will recent dress-code changes affect the WTS negatively?
by Wonderment inin a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.

I attended a union meeting, where one woman, who was well over 300 pounds, was wearing yoga pants. It did not look nice, I would have been ashamed to wear these pants with her shape. I made a quiet comment to the guy sitting next to me, that I thought she looked inappropriate. He agreed. I can just imagine some of these larger sisters showing up at meetings. 🙄

Imagine someone being DFd for fornication, say 10 years ago, and they are now married to the person they fornicated with. Will they be reinstated right away?

New light on shunning?
by Mikejw inone theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.
he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .
what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

Dio has it right. If they stop baptizing those under 18, they won’t be able to trap the kids while they are young. Which presents a quandary to the leadership. 😁 One thing I know, if that were the case, I NEVER would have gotten baptized.
