i mean, i don't want to be miserable or anything, but what's the bloody point of it all?.

since i left the watchtower cult, i have come to realise that god cannot possibly exist...and if a god exists...god is indifferent to humankind as the least.. in 100 years time i'll be gone.

hey punk you sound the way I felt once I found this forum what is the point? imagine this punk one day the world faces a crisis and the only one who can figure out what to do is a young scientist named mr punk the 6th.Only he can find the solution to the problem and he wouldn't even be here if t wasn't for his great great grandfather punkof nice.

Or he discovers a cure for cancer or some other disease facing mankind.after winning the nobel prize in medicine he goes home to pay homage to his forefathers of which by that time there will be hologram images of his forefathers in his library.

Or think of it this way you never truly die because as you decay you are absorbed back into the earth to go and help other organisms live.

point is you are needed you've helped me out sometimes with your comments and for that i'm grateful

i even hate to use that word worldly tm.. any way i'm probably the worst.. 1 when the jw s come to my door i say i'm not interested .

2 i have gone to many churches and volunteered.. 3 i shredded all my jw books and magazines out in the woods.. 4 had the mormon elders over and studied with them.. 5 tried pot (its legal here).

6 open carry my fire arm every where (legal here also).

A fresh start

after the worst introduction i could ever make on the forum i would like to reintroduce myself and make a fresh start on the forum and hopefully over time i will be able to redeem myself.

i have changed my user name which was over dramatic and ridiculous in the cold light of day but for transparency and to show i am not trying to hide anything i have adapted the original name and it now has a more positive feel.

after reading a lot of posts on this forum i am feeling more optimistic about my future.

welcome s and l. Seems like yesterday my parents were kicking me out of the house at 17 for only getting 1 hour in field service.i was scared to death no where to go or stay luckly a relative took me in fast forward 25 years later and i'm glad it happened. Yo will be fine don't panic follow the advice that has been given to you and before you know it you will be back on your feet free of the society.

recent developments make me think they might be.

the problems they are facing are not just lack of funds but also draining authority, and the two could be a heady and explosive mix.

one of the best analyses ever written of the watchtower was a book called "trumpet of prophecy" by sociologist james beckford in the 1970s.

I'll agree when I attended the hall some 25 years ago,i couldn't name one gb member now they are everywhere I guess it is sort of seeing the man behind the curtain.also the changing of the rules every five minutes has to have caused some type of awakening in the average witness.In this world you need some type of college degree,good luck trying to get donations from the working class that can barely make ends meet. Due to the society frowning upon higher education.

these men and i use the word lightly are wicked.I get upset when i hear anything happening to kids,yet these guys did nothing to protect these child nor her siblings,and how after all these years they can't even man up and say we messed up we should have done more shows just how evil this organization is.They have neither the authority or qualifications to handle cases such as these when as a human being that is touched by her story you couldn't even at the very least call the police.

yes a lot of americans are loud,obese,gun loving,violent nuts we are like the one cousin you don't invite to family gatherings but let me tell you something let some foreign power mess with any of the english speaking allies in this forum,and we will be there in an instant.We are like that old big loyal ugly dog,we got your back.Plus out of all the english speaking countries we still have the king's measurent system i love feet,miles,yards always hated the metric system when they tried to teach us in school ......it seemed too french.You guys are going to miss us when we are no longer in a positon to be the big dog on the block that can answer the bell of our international friends.We will always be there for the U.K. i love doctor who too much.

Don't beat yourself up with guilt that has been laid on you by the witnesses.I too lived in fear of commiting the one thing that they said was unforgiveble. As the years went by i came to the point where i believe there is no god at least not the one the wt would have us fear.Live your life and don't worry what a group of men whom i wouldn't trust to screw in a light bulb have to say about things that are unforgivable

What was your eye opening moment?

if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.

i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.

i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.

For me i would say it was my jc.Being asked such personal questions as a 17 year old kid "Did your penis enter her vagina"?. "Was there oral sex"? "Did it bring you pleasure"? All the time my dad was in the room hearing this and crying ,at that point i was done these perverted old men would never get me in that position again.I was being used to get at my father who was a p.o at the time.I saw the power struggle that was going on in the cong.and i wanted no parts of it so yeah after seeing these brothers with there warts and all i was through.
