i have some questions about nathan knorr, the third president (1942-1977) of the wtbts.
accurate answers are welcome.. 1) how did it come about that knorr was made president of the wtbts in 1942 after the death of joseph rutherford?
rutherford as we know was an usurper inheritor of russell's wtbts in late 1916 after russell went to his reward.

I have those 1942 Consolation issues, and it makes a strange reading. A far cry from what would have been published today. Imagine close to a whole magazine quarrelling and name-calling the municipality authorities because of refusing the burial of the Judge. Or page upon page with congregations having voted and giving their allegiance to the new President.

a lot of comments have been made about possible big changes at the agm in the fall.. comments range from changes to the blood doctrine or who compose the one hundred and forty four thousand.. my speculation is.... (and if someone else had this kind of thread i am not stealing from you..just never read it).
the door to door as we know it will cease to exist.
the publishing of a monthly public wt and awake will end.. instead each month a tract with different subjects and a redirect to jw.org will come out.
Remember that 2/3 of the world's population have NO access to Internet. And where is the biggest growth? Yep. So door-to-door, Watchtower and Awake! are here to stay ...........
there's been a buzz on this forum - on and off but currently on - that there has not been an article in any watchtower publication on the blood ban for a while - which feeds speculation that the organization is distancing itself from this doctrinal absurdity.
does that mean there's been nothing mentioned about the blood doctrine for months or years?
specifically, when did the watchtower last mention the blood ban?

For decades, the critisism has been that there are no emotions, that it is a cold, business-like wooden religion.
Now, suddenly, the critisism is that there ARE emotions, but of course - now, emotions are manipulation, nonsense, evidence of no substance, no reality.
This way or that way - it does not matter, it is all wrong, no matter.
when i read coc, i was stunned that the 2 elders (theotis french & rob dibble) were on ray franz judcial committee.
i have known these men for over 20 years having done rbc and convention work with them.
they are still elders today which means they were in their early 30's(which is unheard of for a case of this importance to have inexperienced elders to sit on) on this committee.. without revealing myself, i have never tried(but have wanted to), ask them about their on having to judge a former gb member.. then out of the blue, about a year ago, i was mentioning how hard it is trying to get younger ones to volunteer to one of these elders, and he says"this is nothing compared to to sitting on the committee that had to disfellowship ray franz".
Without giving details about oneself, anyone can come forth with juicy stories supposedly coming from hot-shots he "knows". Tell a story, and the gullible crowd will devour it all, as long as it supports their preconcieved ideas.

the annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.

Because the growth mainly is in the third world countires, and because the WT itself stated that 1/3 of the world's population has access to Internet - meaning that 2/3 don't - AND because groth therefore mainly is taking place in the countries and groups that do NOT have access, THEN the assumption quoted is a No-No.

i still do not understand the new structure at this point.. there has to be something between thousands of co's and the gb.
i know there were zone overseers that the do's reported to.. i have spoken to a couple of elders i can talk to frankly and they both said they have no idea.. rub a dub.

The COs will continue reporting to the ones they have always reported to - the branch.
The DOs have never been someone to whom they have reported.
yesterday i was having a beer with a friend of mine who happens to be an accountant, and we began discussing this ridiculous arrangement that the watchtower has put in place.
after giving him the backstory of how the watchtower has been lending money to the local congregations and charging interest, he simply could not believe they had been doing that.. he then offered an explanation which really made sense to me.
he said that in reality what the watchtower society has been doing is actually not legal in light of their tax-exempt status.
