Beating/slapping is forbidden in many countries, and the WT literature here tells it is figurative meaning only. -

Bible Students Are NOW CONSIDERED JEHOVAHS WITNESSES
by Blackfalcon98 inoh my, while attending one of the boasting sessions.....an elder made reference to recent changes in watchtower terminology.
of these changes, he mentioned that bible students are now considered to be jehovah's witnesses!
this shocked me, so i was wondering have anyone else heard of this new change?

Conspiracy Theory ?
by Phizzy inwe are all aware here that the wt/jw org is trying its hardest to wriggle out of paying rightful compensation in the form of damages to victims of abuse who bring a claim.. they must be worried about future claims too, not just from decades ago, but from the present, as they have not made any effort as yet to truly protect the vulnerable.. here is my question :.
as they now direct the congregations through the organization known as "the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses" and as in each country this organization is headed and run by a few mendicants with no assets, do you think in future the big jw/wt corporations will deny all responsibility for abuse, by saying the very poor "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses", which owns no property/real estate and has no cash or other assets, is alone responsible ????
hence no pay out ?.

The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
That is no big deal. Outside the US, all countries have had such legal entities which are the non-printing parts of the WT. When this is also introduced in the US, together with a branch of its own, it is suddenly a big deal. It is not.

The Logisitcs of Destroying Organized Religion
by truthseeker inthey define babylon the great as the "world empire of false religion", and that jehovah god will use the united nations to turn on her.. .
the "keep on the watch" brochure says the following, regarding the destruction of babylon the great:.
"for our day, the bible forecasts that political governments, like a wild beast, will turn on "the harlot" and strip her naked, exposing her real .

A friend of mine finished his Ph.D. thesis in world politics, or better the East-West conflict, in spring 1989. His main point was that the Socialist system as seen in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe was "here to stay" and would remain active for a very long time.
One year later, it was all gone. He and I had great fun autumn 1989, each weekend a new Socialist country "fell". How he wished he had never finished his Ph.D.
So things can happen fast. That said, I have huge problems seeing the UN deciding anything like the present understanding, but things can be said and done in a very different way, and it can be one of the foremost examples of how prophecy is only understood afterwards.

When he says, "not for creationists like you", isn't it HE who is wrong? JWs are not creationists. -

Protect governing body with your life
by Zoos inthere was a quote in the literature some years back about protecting the governing body from secular authorities and insinuated that we should do whatever it took to insure their safety.. i seem to remember it was something about refusing to help the authorities locate the governing body.
i may be off track here.
if this is familiar to you could you please help me find the quote?.

Since there is a death penalty for a Moslem leaving Islam and becoming Christian, and there have been attacks on JWs, it is no wonder. In Moslem countries where JWs are allowed to work, they preach to members of other Christian denominations. If a Moslem should be interested, the solution is to travel to Lebanon, as conditions are more relaxed there and they can be baptised as JWs there. -

Changing images
by maisha inawhile ago i was mentioning how many of the images in watchtowers last year were containing addins with skulls, demon like faces and blatant illuminiti imagery.
i recently went into the download sites again to grab some of those images and blow me away they have all been changed, cropped, edited, i can say that because i have some those original digital images from the magazines of last year, however the images currently on download sites are not the same some completely removed.
one such image of jesus coming on an ass has been cropped, removing the name of the hidden name of the artist,,,, and altering a huge demon like face on the window.... has anyone else noticed this?..

I have definite proof there are lots of images with demonized signs in them - but I will not publish them here for copyright reasons, and additionally I cannot, because my computer was stolen. But yeah, of course, they are there.
Oh oh oh oh oh - there are many legitimate claims that can be made, many others that I find stupid and utterly false, and then there are these sublimal pictures claims - and they are the stupidest of them all.
When I look at the carpet, or when I look at the wall paper in the toalet, I see faces and animals and clouds and rockets and all sorts of things. Rorschak. Our mind is composed/created/evolved so as to see patterns as a means of survival or making sense of things observed,so this is just plain stupid.

IMPORTANT: JW Congregation in Britain loses case!!!!!!
by Viva la Vida infrom the ruling: .
"we note that the congregation and the charity are one and the same entity in this case, so that whilst the congregation understandably wishes to follow its religious practices, its status as a registered charity brings with it, in exchange for public recognition and tax reliefs, a requirement to maintain certain standards of behaviour.
it also brings with it the risk that, if there are concerns about its activities, these might be inquired into by the respondent.

For those of us (at least I hope there are more than just me) who are foreigners and thus neither being familiar with the British judicial system nor with its specialized terms and language - could someone provide me/us with a "Charity vs. congregation for dummies" version?
