  im about to disassociate myself, and would like to know from those who have been disassociated , is there anything you would have done different before you disassociated yourself?

  do you recommend writing a letter?

  i really don't want to write a letter, cause that is what they want you to do, and they will never give you anything in writing.

  I'm currently in the same situation. I've been wanting to DA myself but at the advise of many here on this forum I haven't. The one piece of advise I can give you is to listen to what others on this forum are saying to you and do more research regarding the matter before you submitt anything to anyone. Think things out carefully because writing a DA letter could make matters worse for you. Weigh your options carefully, each one of us are under different circumstances.

  Do you have any advise for us regarding that legal letter? How do I find an attorney that understand the JWs and why I need this letter written or how it should be written?

  when i was in "dubland" they would announce how many of the "elite-class" was left on earth.. do they still do this & what are the numbers etc.

  I have the latest CD Rom. Should I look up all the January WTs from the past 25 years and see if it has increased and do up a little chart?

  Do you really think the society would print the increase though? My guess is that the mags show a decrease regardless if it is the actual truth or not.

  i've been mia for a week now and thought i would share my news with you.. here's is my precious baby girl, born 20 march.. her name is jahkeil.. nothing to do with any religion, just came out that way.. i wanted my child to carry my dad's name (jack).. .

  Did we miss someone?

  it seems to me that there have been a lot of posters on board of late and many only started in recent weeks.

  we're glad to have you aboard.. we usually like to acknowledge the first posts of newbies but i fear that because of the huge number of posts being made many of us have not been able to keep up with everything that's happening.. so i'd like to take the opportunity of saying a special "welcome!

  How you really know if you are in a cult.

  1. you think the girl in the ankle length dress, neck high sweater, and long sleeve shirt is showing to much skin.. 2. you think it is smart to leave school early to spend your days not working for a living, but driving around handing out magazines.. 3. you think most disney movies are questionable for your kids to watch.. 4. you think smurfs are demons.. 5. you call kids "youths" all the time.. 6. you spent your families vacation at a district convention.. 7. you spent you first date, and last date with your spouse before marrying with a chaperon.

  and you were both in your 30's and virgins.. 8. listening to barry manillow is considered rocking it.. 9. you once washed your childs mouth out with soap for saying "dang" or "darn".

  10. your idea of family fun is playing bible trivia and reading the song book.. 11. if someone in your church once counseled you for wearing perfume.. 12. you consider a death in the family as a preaching opportunity.. 13. you think 7 billion people are wrong and 6 million are right.. 14. you base a good job on whether or not it works with your church schedule.. 15. if you are at this site and reading all these post and saying ... these are all lies.

  Just so you know, you're not alone. I have to go too and I'm more than dreading it. I have to go to put up appearances because my husbands family doesn't know that I am inactive and I don't want to start the shunning process prematurely. Oh the drudgery of it all, what one has to summit himself/herself because of this wicked cult.

  i had this at kents and there were several thoughtful and interesting replies.

  however, i would like to read some more.

  Your account sounds very similar to mine. I had doubts from the begining. I studied out of the knowledge book. It convinced me that the Org. was the only Org. directed by God... After that none of my doubts mattered, I felt as long as I was in God's only organization on the earth, my doubts were only a the result of my sinful mind, so I was able to bury them deep into the far corners of my mind. I did it for 6 years... struggling as a single person trying to work 2 jobs and attend all the meetings, service etc etc... miserably wearing myself out trying to do it all because I wanted Jehovah to love me and be proud of me. It bothers me to no end, that when I had my bible study and before I got baptized no one presented the real issues to me, they didn't lay everything out on the table so that I could make an informed decision, they only brainwashed me into believing it was the only organization directed by God. I didn't even realize all the flip flops the org. had made in the past regarding so many things like organ transplants, vaccinations and the such. I didn't know that when Russell started the religion, blood transfusion were acceptable then it was changed to only partial blood to finally no blood after Russell died... and here we are again with only parts of blood that can be used and others not. Had I know this and other issues, I may have been able to spare myself a lot of pain and misery. They don't play fair.

  Surgeon takes care due to blood restriction?

  i'm wondering if a portion (the part in brackets)of the following respone i got from a dub re: the controversial blood policy sounds eerily familiar to anyone else, like it does me?

  i mean, i could swear i saw a post by someone not long ago almost verbatim, which if i could find the post would make it appear to be kinda like a canned "theocratic warfare" defense line or something:.
