  Prince & the "Special Talk"

  i can't go into the details for obvious reasons about how i found this out but it seems his purple badness made a stop into a kingdum hall in houston, texas today for their supposedly "special talk".

  i was told his entourage stayed outside while he attended.

  i believe this to be highly likely since he was scheduled to play a concert in that city sometime this weekend.

  "Frailty" might be a good movie to watch

  this new movie has an interesting theme: religious fanaticism that goes bad and leads to a murerous cult ofb three, with mind control and all.

  with the recent murders by witnesses who have become disillusioned with their faith, it might be a good watch:.

  "frailty," which opens today in the new york metropolitan region, is the directorial debut of bill paxton, who stars as dad.

  Interesting (sorta) true story about this movie:

  My husband, the very brainwashed dub, loves horror flicks. I always nagged at him for it when I was an active JW but since I have come to my senses I don't anymore and thus he is taking full advantage of his new liberty and has been watching more of them lately.

  When the previews for this movie first came out, He was dead set on going to see it as soon as it started showing. At first I thought it was just because he likes horror flicks but when I saw the preview for it, I was really suprised because the preview actually mentions that the man sees demons and the word demon itself is said several times. My husband would never before have wanted to watch anything that so bluntly mentions demons. I know, horror flick, demons.. what's the difference?... call it hypocritical or whatever you want but that's my husband for you.

  Anyway, one day I saw the preview come on TV and actually stopped to really listened to it. I said "Oooh this guy is a psycho murderer who actually thinks the people he is murdering are demons." -silence- Not a word from my husband.

  So a couple of days ago...

  I said "Hon, Frailty is playing on Friday, are we going?"

  He says "Nah!"

  I said "What? You were so excited about it, why not?"

  He says "Now that I figured out what's it's about I'm not interested anymore"

  I thought that was very interesting. Makes me wonder if he really thought it was something he could show me to scare me about the demons and maybe scare me back into being a JW or if maybe he has started to have some doubts about the society and is in such denial that he doesn't want to see or read about anything that could help confirm his doubts, or both!

  Edited for Grammer, spelling, punctuation blah blah blah... Gawd I'm a horrible writer. I should just add this sentence to my signature, as I ALWAYS have to edit. So darn annoying!

  Earthquakes -- major departure!

  Can you guys believe that when I showed this article to my husband, his totally brainwashed mind was able to dismiss it as as new light?

  The convo went like this:

  Me: Hon, hasn't the society always said that earthquakes have been increases through out the years?

  Husband: Yes.

  Me: This is an interesting article, I think it's new light.

  He reads it.

  Me: Am I right?

  Husband: No, it's not new light.

  Me: What? The society has never said that earthquakes were increasing through out the years?

  Husband: No

  I wanted to strangle him at that point, so I totally dropped it.

  He's so in denial.

  Thanks Joy, some funny stuff. I have a question though.

  If only women can understand other women, why is it so difficult for women to get along in the work place?

  I work with mostly all women and I'm about to pull my hair out.

  Isabel Paterson Redux

  i wuz diggin' through some of my old threads hopin' to find something, and i ran across this one i wrote nearly a year ago.

  nearly a year ago, this board didn't have the volume of readers that it does now, so i'm going to repost it.

  isabel paterson was a woman of who had a gift of genius into human nature and she expressed herself eloquently and with the least amount of words.

  the simple answer is no.. so many witnesses are blind to this obvious point , and still believe god will bring judgemnet to all mankind on the basis of the preaching done by jehovahs witnesses.. realise this jehovahs witnesses,.

  Daughter Going to College this Fall

  Letting JW relatives go....revisited

  some of you might remember i posted my thoughts on why, after years of shunning, and me continually trying to establish contact with the jw relatives that do this, i finally decided it was healthier for me to let them go and stop doing that.

  this was especially true in the case of my younger brother, who was more like a best friend.

  we spent a lot of time together before my extricating myself from the watchtower, including vacations and lots of weekends.

  im wondering if there are any jw here that may be married where they are not disclosing their activities on this forum to their parters.. im wondering if you have added this site to your favorites and changed the name / title of it( if you are like me ), out of fear that your partner or a visiting dub may be nosing through your computer and see jw.com written.. what have you changed the title to ??

  I only come here during the day at work and do all my investigations on the net here at work. I have this site and a ton of others on my favorites but it's my work computer. I don't do any of this from the shared home computer. Soon I hope to be getting my own computer and I will put in a login password so that I can do things freely on it.
  Well not too freely because I can't do anything while my husband is around but during times when he goes out like to meetings and such.
