If I wrongly accuse her, Angharad naturally respects my bible-based authority and while calling me Lord in her heart usually raises a finger or two.I knew I liked that girl!

i always need a pen in my hand when i'm working - i jot things down and do a lot of scribbling (i'm sure a psychologist would have a field day with my doodles).. over the last few weeks though all my pens have been disappearing.
i blamed angharad who had borrowed them and not put them back, she thought it must be the kids who wanted to draw with them (they've discovered a great paper supply which i like to call 'the printer') but they said they hadn't.. this morning, the culprit was discovered .... i put my pen down on the desk and up popped one of the cats, picked it up in it's mouth and calmly walked off with it.
we followed it and found a stash of them behind a kitchen cabinet along with a good selection of the kids stickle bricks.. now, i just need to teach it to bring them back!

I remember Crash and Andy...those were beautiful cats A little psychotic, but beautiful.
But damn, I remember that red 300ZX with the T-Top. Remember when we did our girls only weekend and drove it to the beach? You didn't want to drive it because it was stick shift That was a great weekend. Let's rent another one and do it again....what do you think?

Now that's a funny story Simon and all the others too. Simon you left two interesting tidbits out of your story. What did Angharad do to you since you were falsely accusing her of stealing your pens? And what the hell are stickle bricks?
My cats never steal anything(that I'm aware of yet). Doug's cat does jump up on his desk in the middle of the night and start knocking things off....because he wants to go outside. [8>]

i am so bummed yesterday i called this guy i know and asked him out, and he turned me down.
not just a polite "i'm busy" but he let me know that his relationship with someone just ended last month and he needs time to recover, he said " i am taking the rest of the year off from dating" (sounded to me like "don't bother to ask again")i didn't even know that he had been seeing someone in a serious relationship (the last time i ran into him was in early december).
we used to have had a few classes together and he always flirted with me.
Well,
All I can say is: The guy has no taste if he turned you down.

some dub on purelanguage asking for advice because his homeschooled son is having learning difficulties.. thank you for all of your suggestions.
my son is 13; and i am his teacher (homeschooled).
interestingly, the father was only concerned that the kid wasnt paying attention at meetings!.
Interesting subject.
When I was a loyal JW and my oldest son reached 5th grade, I began to see examples of "worldly behavior" in him...so I reacted as a typical witness and took him and his younger brother out of school and began home schooling them. The older one hated it! He missed his friends, didn't like the lesson plans we did, and he let me know he wanted to go back asap. The younger one loved it, and actually did better.
Because of moving to a new location, I only home schooled them about a year, then put them back in. My oldest was happy, my youngest was miserable. We found out he has mild ADD and home schooling just worked better for him, he can work at his own pace and doesn't have low self esteem because of failing grades and teachers giving him a hard time for not paying attention. So, while I originally took them out to protect them from the "world"...I took the youngest back out because the public school system just isn't equipped to help kids with any kind of learning difficulty.
The oldest boy is a junior in high school now, stays on the A B honor roll, and is very well adjusted and "normal". The youngest is taking an accredited direct education program. They send him the books, he takes the tests on line, and has access to teachers on line and by telephone. He is flourishing as well. We enrolled him in whatever sports program he wanted to provide the social interaction he was missing by not attending school. So, home schooling can be good for some kids...but you're right. If the only reason is to isolate them, they will not develop emotionally and have the social skills they will need to get on in life. Just another thing the parents will probably regret later when they discover Armageddon isn't coming, and now their kids can't function as adults in this world.

i know they are a nuisance (esp when you hit them) but they do serve a purpose.
i though some statistics may highlight the reason for them - these are the number of posts per month since the forum started.
