a fireman is in trouble for surreptitiously putting his penis into the boss's coffee mug.. fire lieutenant mark tomczak admits putting his member in chief william beres' cup.. he pulled the prank while he and other firemen were cleaning the station offices in west allis, milwaukee.. the incident, 10 years ago, came to light after mr beres' son began working as a fireman and heard the story.. mr beres, who has since retired, has demanded lt tomczak be disciplined despite the passage of time.. lt tomczak has been hauled before the police and fire commission to hear evidence, reports the milwaukee journal sentinel.. an investigation showed seven firefighters witnessed the incident.. lt tomczak's lawyer, ray dall'osto, told the panel lt tomczak regrets his actions and confessed when questioned.. mr beres was chief of west allis fire department from 1980-91. the hearings continue in august.. story filed: 20:16 wednesday 20th june 2001. .

Uncle Elder Comes To Town

on the way to work mom mentioned that her brother uncleb(elder in another state) is coming to visit and stay with her for a bit.. seems like his best and long time friend co sal infantino is taking a short vacation from the 'circuit work' and is going to be here at the same time.

of course they have time planned together.. what i found interesting is that i have been invited over to 'talk' with him???

?hmmmmmmmmmm considering that up until now i have persona non grata during his visits.. any suggestions how i can slip some silentlambs and other info into his suitcase?

Do you think they are so desperate to get their numbers up here in the U.S. that they are resorting to rounding up inactive ones to see if they will come back? (not that I think their motives are always so benign, believe me!)

hi everyone, i have been "lurking" for a week or so and thought i'd join the fun.

i am a third generation jw who was determined not to make my kids the fourth!

my husband and i left almost five years ago and have never looked back and as a result have never been happier.. just a quick summary of the past thirteen years.... i never went to college (never even considered it) and was married two weeks after graduating from high school.

You say " The whole thing teaches a lesson, but what is it"?

I don't really know the answer to that question, but I think a little bit of the answer might be....the lesson is to learn to always think for yourself and research a matter before you give your whole heart and mind to it. The further lessons you learn on the journey of learning are perhaps even more valuable than the end lesson?

Never believe something just because someone, or a large group of people say it is so. Never cave to emotional pressures to accept a belief system. The decisions we make based on emotion rather than logical thinking almost always come back to hurt us. If there is a truth out there, won't it stand up to the test of thorough questioning and rational thinking? I think so. And yes, Ray Franz understood the teachings of the Bible better than any of the men who kicked him out as unworthy.( in my opinion)

And welcome to the board! I am so glad you are able to get an education, and that your parents were not the really restrictive kind. That probably helped you develop more normally in a social way.

You make a good point about not villifying everything the WTS stands for and teaches. I certainly do not think every member is a misguided fool who can't think for themselves. Some of the kindest, smartest people I've known were JW's, and still are. You must forgive us if in our recovery process we express our anger and resentment at what the borg has denied us in the past, or currently. For example, many of us have given up every friend and family member we have because of leaving the WTS. So we express that here, where it is safe to do so.

I agree that you should read Crisis of Conscience if you haven't already. You will see that this man, Ray Franz, who has been touted as practically Satan incarnate by most witnesses, is a very kind humble man who could not understand what happened to him, and in no way hates the people who did this to him. It is eye opening, to say the least.

Anyway, welcome again, and I look forward to hearing more from you.

i was the typical slightly self righteous witness, miss goody goody, left school at 16 to pioneer, which i did for 4 years, met a guy and married him.

he had 2 kids from a previous marriage and we had 2 kids of our own.

Thank you for your kind words...but if anyone has been an inspiration it is you. When we were younger, I thought I would always need to keep an eye on you and watch out for you. You have grown so much, especially in the last few years...that you don't NEED anyone girl! And that is a good place to be, eh?

Post your story when you feel the urge...I am sure it will be well received. In the interim...come and pick up your son, he is driving me crazy! Just kidding, he is a doll, and he can just live with me now, ok? What's one more boy around here? It is already testosterone junction...so he will fit right in.

Thank you soooo much for sharing your happy story! I love those.

That is quite a story about the elders in your old cong. sending the newspaper clipping to your new cong...and there are those who swear they don't hunt you down! Now who is fooling who?

I am so happy you and your wife were able to get counseling and work out your differences...I'll bet your kids were absolutely thrilled.

But it was just as cool you getting back with your brother and re-establishing a relationship with him. Getting out of that state and starting over somewhere was probably a very smart move. I wish you and your family all the happiness there is.

P.S. Is it true your name in French means "asshole"? ROFLMAO
