jehovah's witness across north america are being sternly counseled at this week's service meeting that they should pack lunches during the 2004 dictrict convention instead of leaving the site to eat elsewere or return with food.
in a letter read during the announcements, members are told this is a "serious problem".
reportedly jws have been banned from some convention locations because the venues want concession stand business if jws insist on bringing carry-out meals into the facility.

Don't they advertise their conventions to the local communities that they are good for their businesses as well? If everyone brings their luch, then the only thing the local community is going to get is BAD TRAFFIC. Now that might be able to shut their conventions down.
it seems millenia ago that homosexuals dared not declare that fact about them out loud for fear of being imprisoned, beaten to death or at least ostracized by society.
true, some are still ostracized, some are still beaten but more and more they are simply becoming a part of the social fabric of families, communities and society as a whole.. was it just 1969 that a handful of drag queens decided enough was enough and refused to meekly be led off to jail for the night simply for socializing with each other in a bar in new york city.

my mother told me the other day that if push came to shove, she probably wouldn't go to my daughter's wedding if she knew she would be removed as a regular pioneer.
she said that pioneering was something she chose to do over the last 40 plus years.
if my daughter chose to marry an "unbeliever", then that was her decision.......obviously, some things are more important.

I know how I felt when my own mother told me that she wouldn't come to my wedding. She ended up coming, though. No other witnesses came, but I think she didn't look too bad for her return-visits who happened to be a lot of my guests. Or she just didn't want to miss her only daughter's wedding. I don't know for sure, but she was not nice after wedding until I had a miscarriage.
Are you sure that the elder couple will be there? For my wedding some witnesses said they would come, but they didn't. The only one, who came, was a parent of my student who didn't know I was DA'd. As soon as she found out that I DA'd, she had her daughter quit piano right away.
Min, invite a whole bunch of your mother's RVs. It is a good witnessing. After my wedding one of our guests, who knew the situation, told me that she felt so sorry for me, and shocked how cold and unChristian the witnesses could be.
i am honestly trying to stay ahead of anger and to not live my life by it.
i'm not an angry person overall...in fact i've had many issues where i've not gotten angry like someone else might and it's left me in an unhealthy place.
i learned to start getting angry over injustice and wrong, especially where i'm personally concerned.

In California, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area, the gas price has been over $2 for a while so it doesn't bother me too much yet. Last time I checked it was $2.39 per gallon for Unleaded Plus. I think we've had that price at least for a year now.
You know, back in the late 80s, Supreme Unleaded was $1.55 per gallon in summer time. And we thought that was high.

But other ethnic congregations are growing, so I was told by my mother whose congregation splitted in to 2.

9 lb. 10oz? Wow, he is a big baby. I'm having a boy, too. I don't know how big he is going to be before he comes out or when exactly he is going to come out. But I can tell that for last a couple of days I think he got bigger. Now I even walk differently.
