How many here work for yourselves?

some of you may have read some of my earlier posts about my job issues, well i followed the advice that some of you contributed and i'm on my way to starting my own business.

i have a fairly good strategy that i will attempt to follow but i'm back again for more advice.. my first goal is to obtain a business license and establish a business name.

tomorrow i'm going to spend a few hours at the library and try to read up a bit on the different ways to proceed with a small business.

this is a site promoting a case of 20,000 and counting child molesters.

of course they had to have 3 areas to come up with a good number to start with.

why would this site want too take a number from three areas some may ask.

When the WTS give you the number of publishers, they are including women and children under 12. I don't know how many male JWs are in the organization or how many of 23,720 are female pedos.

But I have seen and read both Dateline and Panorama. The GB member and the elders of those congregation didn't look too innocent to me.

do you think there'll be massive exodus from the organisation in years to come?.

i applaud bill bowen for bringing the pedophile issue to the meanstream...but somehow i still think he's pushing the issue.

Have you read Bill's "My Story" in the silentlambs' website? I think he had tried everything there is as a JW. It was and is the WTS and the congregation who are making otherwise.

Can you imagine what Bill had to go through from day one? All the harassments by phonecalls and by visits? For me I had to deal with only one person, but even that was driving me crazy.

It is true that the members of the WTS are imperfect human beings. Then how come they don't get humble, apologize, and try to fix their mistakes? How come they are saying it's not their fault but it's Bill's and the victims' because they are "apostates"?

I've seen and read both Dateline and Panorama. The WTS and the elders of those congregation didn't look too innocent to me.

Regarding your question:

Do I still love Jehovah? Yes, but I've been doing some research lately on ancient Israel, but all the references says their god's name was "Yahweh" not "Jehovah". I'll dig it more.

Do I still love the WTS? I'll give my WTS-fashioned answer. "No comment. It's confidential!"

Bleep, what makes you to be "safe to say" that 1,000 out of 23,720 are from the U.S.? It could be more than half. But we are not talking about the numbers here. We are talking:

1. Does the WTS have a database on pedophiles?

2. if they do, how were their cases handled?

3. How were the victims treated?

4. Does the WTS's policy really protect the children?

Bleep, I don't know whether you are an elder or not. But according to the elders in my former congregation, all the pedophilia cases are not reported to the police. They said that if it's not required by the State ( of the U.S.) law, the elders DO NOT report to the authority other than the Brookly HQ. Even the Society's letter admitts that there are elders who were found guilty of pedophilia. The Society gives a dumb ( sorry for my use of word ) excuse for that.

My question is if they never hide pedos ( and always let the victims call the police ), why in the world they have pedo elders in the first place? How come they are not in jail? I'm not saying that they should be DF'd when they repent. We do have laws in our society. Granted they are Caesar's, but we are obligated to abide.

The elder I talked to denied everything in the beginning. But later he said that because he hadn't taken care of this kind of cases, he didn't know. He also told me that if a pedo brother moved into a State where there is the Megan's Law ( requiring all the sex offenders to register with the local sheriff ), the elders still DO NOT tell anyone ( including the publishers in the congregation ). And that pedo bro is free to go door to door and to have a great time with the children in the congregation.

Bleep, are you a parent? If you are, according to the WTS's policy you wouldn't and shouldn't know if there is a pedophile in your congregation until he strikes again AT YOUR CHILD.

As you may know these pedophiles tend to have more than one victims.

We are not talking numbers here. We are talking the WTS's policy and the children.

How do the locals speak near you?

in britian every city has its own accent and local words that people use.. if you worked a council estate in cardiff you were joe-va's witnesses.. a reply on the ministry could be "you joe-vah's witnesses is it?.

i remmember working in shefield and people would call each other "ducky".

what were witnesses called where you live?

Mostly "Jehovah's Witnesses". I live in California, U.S.A. which is pretty diverse. But everyone tries to speak English, I mean American English. ;-)

STALKING by Elders

i don't know if this has been addressed before, but i was just wondering...can elders be reported to the police for stalking their members?

i know you can report anything you like, but would it be taken seriously?

you know, the stake-outs to see who's committing immorality, or waiting in your driveway till you get home to corner you about something, or even just showing up on your doorstep unannounced to ask it you still believe it's "the truth.".

I don't know if any over zealous elder would do that. But I was a victim of #2 section A, not by the elders but by my mom who is a JW. I was going insane. I could feel myself. Fortunately I had a chance to get away for a few days. Otherwise I would be in a mental institution by now.

according to "crisis of conscience", the gb didn't have power/control before 1975. the corporation ( the watchtower bible and tract society inc.) had the power, and they were neglecting the people.

after the 1975 commotion, they tried to act like the gb.

so they took over the control.

Well, they printed out semi-apology in the Watchtower mag. regarding their missed 1975 prophecy 5 years later.

But I remember hearing maybe in year 2000 that the corporation got the power again, and the GB is dealing only the spiritual matter - meaning they got pushed aside.

Does anyone have any news regarding this?

Jehovah's People

since the program and at other times when jw's are 'in the news' i have always been told that.

'jehovah's people' would not do that kind of thing etc.. a typical response to the panorama was 'it's all apostates isn't it' or 'they were good actors' - .

yeah, right the guy in 'cuffs being lead to the clink, great acting.. what is my point you ask, mildly.. it is this.

My guess is that after Bill sent out the letter to the GB and T.J. debut on T.V., the GB and The WTS Inc. got so upset esp. with the body of elders in Bill's congregation. Maybe that's why they want to talk to Bill now.

Just for reminder, there are the Governing Body and the Watchtower Corporation. These two work together, but not the same. The Prez and Vice Prez we hear are from the corporation. For more detail read "Crisis of Conscience" by Ray Franz.

when i first found this site i was superised to find so many people like me that had issues with the org.

they say that all the negative info on the net just re-enforces that they are "the chosen ones".

my response to that was, look at your beliefs and doctrines, they are controversial, what do you expect.

You find the same thing if you do a search on Hitler.There are many things I would like to talk about. The main thing is I need to vent because alot of my family are in the org. and they think I'm Satanic. It's like talking to a wall. Of course anything on the net is false regarding JW's "according to them". I've had lots of doubts about certain things they preach.
