Sorry but they are a 'charitable organization' on paper (for tax purposes) they should have some organized charities.....what an individual does is not the point...and they fail miserably in assisting widows and orphans in their tribulation...I don't know what kh you've attended but in all my life as a JW,I haven't seen what you speak of.
Sure the odd meal here and there, the old clothes no longer wanted, given away now and then......or instructions how to fill out govt forms and applications for aid......
I've seen far too many jw's on adc and welfare(mostly pioneers)
You can tell me the 'aid' is there all day,I will continue to disagree......christian charity should encompass anyone in need, not just another jw.........but then charity begins at 'home' doesn't it.
So can you tell me the name of a wts charity that is verifiable? On paper? Tina

Freind,
It's not a melting pot,it's conformity....no organization can be reformed without the right to crtically debate issues,a sort of checks and balances where all have input,,,this just isn't so among them,,,,,,,even if they corrected their reporting policy, there is still too much wrong,,,it's still totalitarian.
The control on who one should marry, mode of attire, what music and art one can enjoy,in short ones lifestyle is legislated,,there is little free choice......women are still second class in that system.
The abusive practice of disfellowshipping keeps too many in a fear state........the wts while crying for religious freedom.violates the civil and human rights of its very own members.
Name one ,just one charitable program that assists all regardless of creed......where are the food pantries, crisis centers, homeless shelters etc etc for their own members?

Every obscure disease known or unknown to man
by LovesDubs indid you all ever notice how "sick" the "friends" seemed to always be with weird diseases and ailments and blood disorders?
i swear i have never seen so many cases of "chronic fatigue syndrome" and "blood viruses" as i did when i was a jw.
they were constant shoppers at the local homeopathic stores, stocking their shelves with every herb and rub and remedy...and nothing seemed to help these mysterious ailments.

Greetings,
The wts has a history of promoting quackery...denigrating the medical profession(especially mental health practitioners)......
My uncle(elder) and his wife, jump on every herbal bandwagon that comes along,,,without researching the substances thoroughly......
I have had get info to my mom and reason with her about some of these supplements,,,(she's a jw too)
in MHO, too many JW's acting on what they've read over the years from the wts, feel distrust about the medical community and arrogantly diagnosis and treat themselves.....
My nephew who was recently baptized was in the er,due to over ingesting some herbal supplements,,,terrible anaphylactic reaction,,,could have killed him.....sorry to ramble, just sharing a few personal experiences, regards,Tina -

Why are we not "officially" informed?
by MacHislopp indo you find normal that:.
it is interesting to point out that nearly a year after ceasing its policy of .
disfellowshipping jehovahs witnesses who accept blood or the blood.

Greetings!
I have a few reasons in mind, why it's not explained clearly and succinctly to the r/f.
One is the issue of power and control....can't have the r/f making up their own minds now can we? (this takes some control away from the big boyz)
Another is $$$$$,can you imagine the lawsuits due to the specious and changing policy on blood?
Just a few thoughts FWIT,Tina -

A New Nail in "FRIEND"'s COFFIN ;-)
by Focus ini know that honest-hearted ones here are thoroughly sick of friend's ill-disguised, legalistic, nitpicking, ground-shifting, form-over-substancing, necrophilia-inducing attempt to deny that the setup and conduct of the watchtower society serves excellently to encourage pedophilia... (of course, like all apologetics claim, he is not defending the cult, only attacking the poor argument of the opposer - lol!
lol!
lol!).

PEDOPHILES are to WTS as flies are to honey?
by Focus inw73 11/15 703-4 questions from readers ***.
do paul's words at 1 corinthians 6:1-7 mean that under no circumstances should a christian take to court a case involving a fellow believer?
-u.s.a. here paul was showing the corinthian christians the inconsistency of taking disputes between christians before secular tribunals.

Greetings,
I found your key points both relevant and correct.
At the end of the day the issue boils down to the powerless(victims) and the powerful(elders, org.men)
The child's perceptions also create his/her reality...something they have to live with, which seems to escape friends notice.
All his legalistic manuveurs attempt to shield the fact that even the most basic human needs are violated(safety, security, health)regarding victims in the org. And this from an org that publicly declares itself 'a spiritual paradise' for it's members....
It's 'soul-murder' pure and simple.....when self-esteem, love,sense of competency,belonging,emotional safety,worth are violated in this manner.
So on the very fundamental level, these 'lambs' live not in a 'spiritual paradise' but in trauma, fear and desperation.
This has to stop. This starts by leaving off the excusogetics, getting in touch with humanity,,,,something I have yet to see from friends postings on the matter. (and not the 'lip service' I do see)......
JMHO anyway,Tina -
