  Christmas

  hey everyone, i am thinking of having a tree this year for the very first time since i stopped going to the kh.

  although i am not disfellowshipped and i have not written a letter to disassociate, the closest friends i have had over the years as a witness have all chosen to avoid me and my family unless we return to the hall.

  unofficial shunning by those who we have loved.

  Biblical beating kills girl

  the parents accused of beating their 12-year-old daughter to death have told police they were meting out the biblical punishment of "40 lashes minus one, three times," detectives said monday.

  constance slack, a registered nurse at a children's hospital, gagged her daughter, laree, while she was strapped down to a futon, police said.

  her father, larry slack, then repeatedly hit the child with an inch-thick section of rubberized electrical cable filled with strands of wire, police said.

  I agree! I find it hard to believe that growing up as a JW,JR Brown didn't get an eyeful of how far too many Jw's brutalize their children. He knows. I don't know how he sleeps at night. Conscienceless,I guess. He disgusts me. T

  Thanks for posting this. A later edition of the SunTimes(metro) article quotes JR Brown,,,,,he says 'the christian cong of Jw's disavowed corporal punishment as an acceptable way to discipline children, he adds,it has nothing to do with the religion'.....'it isnt even a biblical teaching....Taking the life of another is a sin,being cruel and abusive is a sin'. The article does name them as jehovahs Witnesses........ Tina

  The WWII Vets and Me

  on the way from seatac airport to my son's hometown, we decided to stop for dinner at a golden corral restaurant in maryville.

  the place was packed and had a waiting line, and it turned out they were providing free meals to all veterans or currently active military.

  there were quite a number of guys wearing their vfw hats or similar identification, and many more who were not, but were easily identified by age as probable wwii vets.. we sat among them and ate happily, and i took time to study the crowd.

  Venting against crazy JW's

  well i finally made a decision.

  i went to the local jw church and told them that if they didn't communicate with thier "hierarchy" and get jon's father to stop spending every night in his car on the street outside of my house that i was going to file suit, first against him, then against the crazy organization that seems to sanction his actions.

  that man has been outside of my house every damn night and i finally figured out that since the local cops couldn't seem to do anything about it i would.. the other night i sat out on my front porch and waited for him to park his car across the street.
