so im sitting here on a thursday night (oh my god, i'm missing the service meeting) and downloading songs from limewire like september by ewf and thinking about old friends and going skating and having a big table of people after the meeting at the shoneys and laughing loud and cruising down ashley street and just having a damn good time.

and i'm po'd because the superchicken theme song won't download and its like my favorite.. and i have tomorrow off and i'm going to buy my books from next semester, just 2 classes, hoping there ain't no overload.. and if chris and lisa and julie and robyn and kenny were here we'd be having a blast but instead saturday john and jason and patrick and thom and me will be having a blast playing the new games i bought today.. here's to remembering old friends fondly and creating new memories with new friends.. god bless you all, i may just make it.. snuggly hugglies.. joel

Ice Storm In The South

what a night it was.

here in the piedmont triad area of north carolina we got hit pretty hard with an ice storm.

WOW Between, you sure did get hit!!! We got hit too, but not as bad as you! I'm in Nashville Tn. and it's all starting to melt. We got about 2 inches of snow. It was so pretty, but just didn't last. I love snow, but I think if I got hit with it as bad as some folks did, I wouldn't be so crazy about it!

Our Mother is in a coma :(

karla and i came home for a quick shower and a change of clothes.

we ask that you keep our mother and our family in your prayers.

we posted a few weeks ago that our mother had been diagnosed with pancreas cancer and was given 6-18 months with chemo.

I talked to Carla and Paula eariler. They were getting ready to go back to the hospital. I felt so bad for them that I had to lay down, didn't wake up until just a few minutes ago, I slept for over 3 hours! Brought back some memories from when my mother was sick. I feel so bad for them. It's soooo hard.

DeDe, I'm like you, I've also been crying. It breaks my heart.

well i don't have alot of pics cuz my camera is currently not working, but elsewhere, who was good enough to come and eat with us took some good shot of our food and us laying around doing nothing.

Noidea, I'm so sorry!!! As you know I went through the same thing not too long ago with my mother. What hospital is she in? I don't have your number, but I have Myself's number. I'll call her. I'm so sorry. I'm sure I'll be talking to you very soon!

She's gonna be locked up!

after several phone calls from my wife yesterday, and one from her therapist and another from the psychiatric hospital the little mrs. is on her way back to south carolina.

according to her therapist she was in the middle of a breakdown yesterday.

her therapist asked if she (the wife) could come home for treatment.

Yerusalyim, goodness, I didn't know the extent of her illness! I'm so sorry! I'm sorry that she had to endure all that during her childhood and I wonder if all her mental illnesses is due to what she went through as a child. So sad.

If I'm not being too personal, was she harming the children? Was she being faithful to you? What exactly was going on with her that has caused her to end up in the hospital again?

I do hope she get's the help that she needs! My first and foremost concern would be to protect your children though. Make sure that their life can be as normal as possible!

all I can smell is SMOKE!!

bushfires have been raging around sydney for the past 2 days.

high temperatures (30c+) plus blustery hot winds have fanned fires all around my city.

the reason for this is that although the central business district of sydney and neighbouring suburbs are purely metropolitan, the outlying suburbs are surrounded by bushland, and many areas naturally have plenty of vegetation.
