  i've been reading this site for about 2 weeks.

  the information and support here are great!

  i'm trying to fade away from the jw's without having to da myself (because of my many jw family members).

  Hey Madison!!! It's so nice to have you!!! I look forward to getting to know you better!!! You're probably smart about keeping a low profile. Word got out that I sent a Christmas card and all hell broke lose!!! It turned into a full blown witch hunt. My family is screwed up to begin with and the whole Jehover Witnet thing, it didn't help matters! Actually after time, I've come to realize that I'm better off if I stay away from my hover family anyway. They're a bunch of hypocrites. They're all one big fruit basket!!!

  Tell us more about yourself! What part of the world do you live? I'm close to Nashville Tn. My hubby and I D.A. ourselves in 1999. Push came to shove and we had to stand our ground. Long story!!! Glad we're out for good though!!!

  Jehovah's Witness Ghost Story

  i was about twelve and a young "brother" invited me to stay the night at his house.

  my mom wanted me to be make friends with witness families, so getting permission was not that hard to do.

  his mom and dad picked me up at around five and we went back to his house.

  Kenpodragon, that was truly a spooky story! You wrote it well too! You should be a writer! This time of year the t.v. is full of ghostly programs! I have actually hid under the covers close to hubby cause I'm a fraidy cat!

  LB, same here, I'm glad that you had the guts to stand up and speak your mind. So many people cowardly tip toe around the Jehover Witnit's, afraid that they will be shunned, hoping to just fade out quietly. I've never been one to keep my thoughts to myself! A tell it like it is kind of person! And when it came to the elders, I did just that!

  i have been smoking off and on for over a year,,,,,,,never smoked before this year in my life.. it all started just for the hell of it.

  then as my hub and i started going out dancing and hitting the town, cig smoke was everywhere.

  i would comehome with it in my hair and all over my clothes.

  DeDe, CC started smoking about a year ago and then I started. We're both hooked bad. We have made it our goal to quit this Thanksgiving. We are slowly weening ourselves off them. I hate it and I know it's one to the worst things a person can do to themselves. Let's make a pac to quit, k!

  i'm getting that religious people realllly get on my nerves - no matter how "well meaning" they are.

  i read in one of the posts some advice to the newly "ex'd" and i appreciated it, especially the point how other's may want to "save" you now that you've left your religion.. get this... i work with 2 born-agains and my boss is a mormon.

  they've all made some comments about that "i shouldn't let this experience destroy my faith in jesus" (tolerable, assuming i believed in him) however, one co-worker has a new zeal for her born-again faith and has raised many topics with me because she respects my opinion.

  All this reminds me of back when I was a Jehover Witnit and we had a pioneer sister and a brother to get into two separate car accidents the same weekend. The brother was a good brother and worked hard to support his wife and kids, but he didn't survive the accident. I remember how all the brothers and sisters at the hall commented on how Jehover's spirit was with the pioneer sister, how valueble she was to the borg because she was a pioneer. It always pissed me off royally because I felt, was this poor brother less valued because he wasn't a pioneer. I even commented about it to my brother who was a elder. He said I had a bad attitude. That wasn't anything new! They make me sick too.

  Who's Got a Spooky Story to Tell?

  here's my one and only spooky story.. my wife goes to visit her jw sister, who lives several hundred miles away, about once a year.

  while she is away, i get some major diy jobs done.

  she is away at the moment, so i'm fitting a new bathroom.

  Shera, tell your story!!! I love hearing spooky stories!!!

  Span, that was definately a wierd experience!!! That would have spooked me big time!!!

  Wierd things would happen in the house that me and my ex lived in. It was a old two story house from the 1800's that had been gutted and completely remodeled. Doors would shut by themselves, lights would go off for no reason. A picture fell off the wall once. One morning when we got up, all the diningroom chairs were in the livingroom, as if we had company and moved extra chairs in there for more seating. My ex and I argued over it, saying that neither of us had moved the chairs! Don't know if one of us got up during our sleep and done it or not, but it was strange in deed.

  Nothing like that has happened since, thank goodness, but then again, I don't live in that house anymore!!! I'm not saying that I had ghosts, but I don't have answers for some of the wierd things that happened there either.
