How many of you knew about the"Jesus is not your Mediator" teaching when you were JWs??
by Lady Liberty inhi everyone.... just curious how many of you knew when you were active, about the societys official teaching regarding jesus the mediator.
i was floored to find in my research, that they teach jesus is the mediator for the 144,000 only.
and it is only by our association with them that we might have salvation.. i don't know about you guys but i was blown away when i learned they taught this.

New Stance on how to treat DF?
by InquiryMan ini talked to an ex-jw this weekend.
her sister had told her that there was a softening up on how to treat dfs family members at the assembly.
it was the impression her sister got from the drama.

It was like i suspected.. The sister "interpreting" the drama to her benefit, justifying her contact with her DF sister.

On the other hand, if there was a softening up, that would truly benefit a lot of people...

Hi!
I talked to an ex-JW this weekend. Her sister had told her that there was a softening up on how to treat DFs family members at the assembly. It was the impression her sister got from the drama. Is this an interpreation on her part, or have anyone got the same impression (related by people who have been at t he assembly)....

New unique book on JWs published
by InquiryMan ina book on jws containing contributions from more than 10 professionals, giving different angles on jw doctrine, organization, life and culture has been published by the norwegian university press publishing ho... a jw is also contributing, allowing the jws to give a self-presentation.... it is rolf furuli who has written that part, he is also coordinator in an oslo congregation and is working at the university of oslo.. in fact, my parents intends to read the book, and that is good, cause it also mentions information not commonly known among regular jws, e.g.
mexico/malawi etc... it also gives the web address to a number of support web sites for "disgruntled" witnesses.. the book has come into existence also in cooperation with brooklyn hqs and the national branch office providing information and literature.. a good reading, accurate, containing less than five actual mistakes in close to 200 pages ;-)... (one minor one in the witness chapter.
he says in general witnesses are ambassadors of god s kingdom.. and shows this by reference to 2. cor.

I do not think any "known" apostates as such has influences the book... The book does refer to Raymond Franz and also Roar Henriksen and Wilting, known norwegian ex-witnesses.
Interestingly, when a regional newspaper made a review on the book, one of the co-authors was photographed inside a kingdom hall along with an elder an quoted the elders remark that he was looking forward to reading the book.

the good thing about the book is that it is neither apolegetic nor polemic, thus acceptable to all parties...

(One minor one in the witness chapter. He says in general witnesses are ambassadors of God´s Kingdom.. And shows this by reference to 2. Cor. 5:20... However, the Society interprets that the term ambassador refers solely to the 144000. Members of the cgreat crowd are referred to as "envoyees"....)
