I wonder might this be an American Jw phenomenon? Most JWs I knew did read newspapers daily, watched the news and were generally well informed, not less than people I know today... Also, when it comes to standard of living, the average witness is not that different from their fellow citizens... However, I do live in a country where the national average of preaching has been some 7 hours for decades and the number of pioners a tiny percentage...

I did see it thanks to a link provided to me by a nice contributor in this web-site :-)
The film was well made, although the Al Matthew (extr. weak brother) was overplaying a lot.
I can understand why it will touch many JWs who have been through similar things.
However it was all about trigger guilt and keep the flock... The plot was a modern day adaption of the biblical parable.

WTS is ADVERTISING in local newspapers
by still thinking ini just opened our local paper to discover a half page add on the front page for jehovahs witnesses... more to be read on page 4 and 5 where there are two half page articles.
that must have cost them.. they are obviously trying to soothe the public into thinking that jws are harmless...let them into your homes.
